Oh no Melissa, you're leaving your beautiful home!! Do you know where you'll be moving yet? At least you sound excited!! I told my husband I did not ever want to move and I haven't moved all that many times - I just hate it!!
Thanks for tagging me - I'll have to think of some new facts, since I just did that random post and I'm not sure I really have any new and exciting things to add - LOL!!
Meghan has been in and out all week, visiting friends and such, but we've had a great time and I can't believe its almost time for her to leave! She'll be back in 2 weeks though for a month!!
Talk with you later - thanks again.

Wow, Melissa! The cookies look amazing! You should post a picture of them on Allrecipe.com. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Pumpkin-Cookies-V/Detail.aspx ♥

Loved your 6 random things list. I'm sorry to hear you'll be moving soon. Like you said though, another house to decorate! ☺ Diane

I'm asking because I live in Wash St and we have an air force base not too far away *winks* Vanna

Hi Melissa...Thanks so much for playing tag! I'm sorry you're leaving your beautiful home! I've moved several times in the last few years and it's not fun. It does make you clean out the junk, though! I also get upset when I hear about animal cruelty! I wish I could take them all in and keep them safe. I didn't know about all of your military connections! Our thanks to your family! Enjoyed the 6 things. Thanks again...Debbie

Stacey said...

Leaving that home...oh no! I've never moved much and really just can't imagine. One thing I've always noticed about people in the military is that you all seem to have wonderful attitudes about the adventure. You are right, a new home to decorate, new friends to make, new RMS pages...the list goes on and on!

The cookie look wonderful. :)

Melissa, I have survived the most awful move ever! I don't envy you doing it--but, I agree, it's another decorating opportunity! Those cookies look delish! Also, I scrolled down and took a peek at that gorgeous tablescape you did last Tuesday--it's awesome...so elegant and festive! Hope you're having a great Thanksgiving weekend.

Oh Melissa.. You're leaving your beautiful home? When do you start packing girlie? Wish I could be there to help. I know you must be used to it, but it also has to be hard.. Do you know exactly wher you'll be going? Do you pick your own housing? Ok I know enough of the questions right? Thanks so much for the tag sweetie... sure hope you're Daddy is doing ok this evening..man alive I can almost taste these cookies....hugs ~lynne~

Sorry to hear about the move, Melissa, but you are courageous in your attitude. It looks as though you've made some good online friends though, and I can tell you from personal experience, it is so helpful to have those friends be with you no matter where you end up. All you have to do is turn on the PC! Best Wishes, Stacey

Oh Melissa I was surprised to read you will be moving soon! I give you a lot of credit to be able to do that so often, but as you said you grew up in a military family and I'm sure your life has been so interesting because of it. So far where has your favorite place been where you've lived? I wish you and your husband the very best in the new location!

The pumpkin cookies look yummy! The pumpkin must make them so moist and delicious.
Hugs, Pat

Well, new only if you don't count the two years from when I signed up for it and when I actually began posting. =) Yes, that pesky kitchen. I have begun painting but it's not quite finished. I've primed everything darn near twice because I made mistakes or other choices in the color. And now I may do it all over again! Ha! I like it...don't *love* it. We'll see when it's done. Thanks for stopping by! ~Stacey

Hi Melissa:
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. I was here earlier and was checking out your home on RMS. Absolutely beautiful. I didn't have time to comment or finishing looking, so I am back.
I wish I was married to a military man so I could move frequently...sounds awful I guess. But I like to live in different places and meet new people. Plus it would make me get rid of clutter. lol.
Those cookies look so yummy.

Hi Melissa--your cookies look wonderful! Where's your next move going to take you?

As far as our kitty heating pad--our little orange Dulcie is 17 and has always been she started to velcro herself onto any warm body sitting on a chair, so that's when I found the heating pad which she loves. Recently my black and white Max who is 14 started hogging the heating pad,so we got him one too!

Melissa,

Thank you so much for dropping by my blog today. I just wanted to pop over and say thanks and Hi! Love this recipe for the cookies and also love all the beautiful pictures of your home and the fact that you're a Floridian! Yea!
Love your sweet kitty, too, and it upsets me more than I can say about cruelty to animals.

My sister works in the jewelry industry, too, and she loves helping people with special purchases.

I hope your move goes smoothly and that you find another home you love as much as this one. It's always fun to decorate something new! In the mean time, I plan to come back and visit you here. Beautiful blog! :-)

Xo,

Sheila

I'm sad for you that you have to move, but I think it's a pretty nice area. We almost had to move to Reston, VA, but my husband took severance instead. We had gone through him traveling up there when that sniper thing was going on and just after 9/11, so we didn't go. I still miss my house in SC...ALOT. Hopefully, we can get together in the new year!

Good morning Melissa :)

It was so much fun to learn more about you! Your hubby is from Ohio and you're from Florida? How did he like it when the Buckeyes were beat by the Gators? About as much as Rich enjoyed my home team of USC beating them I suppose LOL Of course I'm assuming he likes football, because I think everyone from this state does ;)

Your tree and your tablescape from the last two posts I missed are gorgeous!!

Have a wonderful day :)

Melissa,
The boys did a pretty good job; but I still have to go over it and I have been booked with making door wreaths for the neighbors and some of my clients. I wasn't going to do them this year but, what can I say. They are all so loyal. Now I am behind with my christmas but if it makes my friends and clients happy than I am pleased to be a part of their christmas decorations. LOL
I hope to finish the rest of the orders tonight. I have 16 wreaths completed and each one is different. I should be able to compete the 4 that are left. Thank you for visiting.
Happy Holidays,
Blossom

Hey Melissa, Thanks, the plate is a Christopher Radco. It was on sale for about $10. I would like a whole set but that would get pretty expensive! Ok, I really have to get busy. LOL! I have so much to do over the next few days. I thought I was almost done decorating and a lady called me just a minute ago and wants me to help her on Tues. UGH! Don't mean to sound like Scrooge but I was hoping to be done. Oh well, I'll just make the best of it! Kristen

Melissa, Short courtships do work. My dh and I were fixed up on a blind date and dated a month, got engaged, and married a month and half later. We were married 38 years. It would have been 40 this month. He was my best friend for all those years. We did everything together. Best wishs for your move. I have lived in my old home 30 years so would really hate to have to move, Blessings, Deanie

I'll look for you on RMS - I've just about quit going there - I may visit, but rarely post anything or even try to comment, but I'll be on the lookout for you!! It has gotten quite scary over there. I know a lot of folks are on MicasaStyle now. I did not see the S/P shakers at Target - and I'm in there probably 2 or 3x a week - I'll have to look for them next time.
Thanks for coming over ~

Hi You! Glad you stopped by again! The nativity figurines are from Pierre Deux catalog. Are you talking about the stand that it's on? It's a Tracy Porter cake stand that I got several months back from Homegoods. I just loved it but didn't know where to put it and haven't had time to bake any cakes! But looky what I did with it! haa! Sure came in handy! Glad you liked the room and thanks again for coming by! :) ~ Laurie

Laurie - Decorating Fanatic said...

Ohhhh! The tureen!! Now I got you! Yes, that is one of my favorite pieces too!! Also another Homegoods find - I zeroed in on that baby when I first walked in the store, I had tunnel vision! I also picked up a matching little platter and teapot. I wrote to the company {Kaldunn & Bogle} to see if I could order more pieces (nope!) but they gave me a list of stores "supposedly" in my area. Well all of them were quite a few towns away (and NO websites to order from!) and the one store I did go to, didn't have anything. But if you look them up & write to them, they will give you the same store info. You might get lucky! About your toppers - all are beauties but I think my knees go weak over the verdigris one over the matching baskets - that one is my favorite!! You will have to show us the new ebay one! :) ~ Laurie
