Light The Way

Hello Everyone!
Recently one of my blogger friends Nicole
Nicole's Treasure Chest did a post about her
lamp obssession and it gave me an idea to post.
Thanks Nicole!
One of the most important ways to make a room feel
warm and cozy is by using enough lamps and lighting.
I'll show you many examples throughout our home.
All photos can be enlarged when clicked.
This is our formal dining room and kichen dinette.
Both fixtures are from Quorums Coronado collection. The pendants over the bar are are the same collection.
A fluted floor lamp in the family room is by the fireplace.
The entry way has two light sources above and below.
I bought the table lamp at Lowes and it is a
perfect match to the hanging fixture above.
Funny how that works out sometimes.
Please excuse the cobwebs way up high.
I am going to get the ladder for spring cleaning soon.
The end table pineapple lamps are from JCPenney.
I found the birdcage lamp from JCPenney.
The end table lamps are made by Kathy Ireland.
I ordered them from Lamps Plus.
The iron buffet lamps are also from Lamps Plus.
The sconce is battery operated and is from QVC.
Hall light and sconce are more of the Coronado collection.
I like to use accent lighting in unexpected places.
A sweet mini lamp on a kitchen buffet.
A lamp above the fridge is from Kirklands.
Another one in our guest bath is from Target.
Iron guest bathroom lights are made by Minka.
The urn lamp is in our guest room and is at Target.
Barley twist in our master bedroom are from Lowes.
The hammered silver desk lamp is from Kirklands.
A black and silver mini lamp in our bonus room.
For me no home would be complete without lights everywhere.
As you can see I love them!
Yes, more night lights...
They are taking over our home.

Do you use many lamps throughout your home?
Do you have unique ideas of where to place them?
I would love to hear about them.

Happy daylight savings time!

Hi Melissa! Your lighting is all beautiful.

We have all Quorum lighting in our house and it has really been nice. Three ceiling fans went out and they all were covered with lifetime warrangies.

Is your move coming soon?

marty39 said...

Melissa, your lamps are all just lovely. I also really love lamps and they are such a decorative accessory and the lighting can really set the mood and accent just the right space. Hugs, Marty

I love all your chandys and your lamps! Take your favorites down, and take them with you. lol Thank you Thank you Thank you! Night lights are my answer! I go around at night with a flash light when I get up during the night. I can not sleep in our bed yet, I left the hospital bed for a couch! The shades on the night light would make the light not so bright, and I can leave my flash light behind! In the motor home, we had little light we kept on at night. You do not know what a lovely gift you have given me. No more forgetting the flash light and falling, or bumping into furniture or walls! lol It is very dark in the country!

Recently I have been lucky to find some new mini lamps on super good discounts and I wasn't sure what to do with them. Thanks to you I will be trying them in places that didn't occur to me before.Gord almost pushes me away from lamps when we shop,he always says where are you going to put another one? Kind of like my pillow obsession.Glad I'm not alone.

Hi Melissa,
It's almost midnight and I'm up looking at your lamps! They are beautiful. I love lighting - chandeliers, lamps, wall sconces; just about anything that produces light. One translation of my name is "light". Here's a neat story for you. After I married my husband we found out that a Celtic translation of his name means "seeker of the light". I'm "light" and he's "seeker of the light". Well, I guess he found me. :-) All of your light fixtures, lamps and nightlights are exquisite. Thanks for the tour. See ya soon.

I love those lamps, you have so many different varieties.

Melissa, I took your lamp tour and was quite enthralled. I buy lamps and accessories for a furniture dealer, so I have a thing for lamps! Used to be you couldn't get a good look from the big box or discount stores--times have changed. Even I have have been known to pick up a lamp or two from them to accent a small area.
You've done a good job! ~ Sue

Hi Melissa! I'm in love with your new header ... I've been away for a while, so I'm not sure how "new" it is - but it's great! Also love your fixtures. So nice, and I agree! I use lots and lots of lamps, and our sconces are almost always lit, with the chandeliers dimmed.

Melissa, I am just laughting so hard. My husband went around the house when we came home from a dance on Saturday. He counted all the night lights that I have on. He said when we pulled in the drive way, why does our house look like it has lights on in every room; he hadn't notice that in five years. LOL This made me think of you with all your lights. I agree with you, this is lovely what you have done.

I love your blog and enjoy looking at all the lamps. I love lamps, too. However, my house was built in 1960. There are only 2 outlets in every room. I have extension cords and splitters on all the outlets, as it is. One of these days we must have an electrician in to add more lines - not just for convenience, but for safety too. BTW, I added you as a favorite. Blessings

Hi Melissa :)

Your chandeliers and lamps are beautiful! I love the nightlights too :)

I love to have dimmers for all my rooms, which we'll be doing soon, because that way I can control the light. I always make sure to have at least one reading light available, so that I can needlepoint or read if the mood strikes me, but these days I blog so who knows when that'll happen LOL

Oh and a riser is the vertical part of the step. I would never laugh at you!
