Formal Living Room

Hello Everyone!
The living room is done in burgundy and gold colors.
UPDATE:
This room is no longer used!
Click here to see the room today.

It's the first room you see as you enter our home.

One of my favorite details is the tray ceiling.
The gold paint is called Chicory from Lowes.

The leather sofa and chair are a deep wine shade.
The sofa is Ashley and the chair is from Sams Club.

The burgundy drapes are from BB & Beyond.
The artwork above the sofa is from Kirklands. You can really see the burgundy color in this photo. The flowers and family photos are on a side table. The fleur de lis plate is from Kirklands. The red bee pillow is from Kirklands. The burgundy colored rug is from Lowes. The french doors are a nice feature to this room.

Your home is stunning.

I used to be a military wife back in the late 80's, early 90's. My husband was an officer in the U.S. Army.

I admire you and your husband and for your service to our country.

It's so nice to meet you.

Ahh Melissa, I hope you know that this room looks like it came straight from a beautiful homes magazine!! It is gorgeous and should be featured in one, that is for sure!!! You have such impeccable taste. I just love how everything just flows together so perfectly.

I love, love the way you have the curtains puddling. I wish I could do that in my living room, but Bentley would mark them. They would never be hanging, they would always be in the washing machine!!

You and your sisters are just beautiful!! I enjoyed each and every one of your pics. I hope you are having a super weekend, Nicole

Melissa, this is such a beautiful room -- I love how it looks so "finished" and well thought out.

Plus -- that red chest with the brass on it? FABULOUS.

Gold and red -- such a rich and limitless combination. Lovely!

Hi Melissa,
I need one of those tassels! Absolutely perfect! Your home just makes me want to just come and put my feet up. You have a way of making it look beautiful but it's welcoming too, nothing looks off limits. You're right about the furniture, we do spend so much time in the kitchen. Even when we have company over, everyone wants to hang out in my itty bitty kitchen. Plus, the piece of furniture was way cheaper than a cabinet would have been. I'm all about the budget!
