Misty Master Bedroom

Hello Everyone!
In my previous post I showed you a peek at a project.
It is new drapery rods and all the hardware!
While we are here I'll show you the entire room.
Here are the results. Let's have a look.
My hubs removed the old rods and sconces.
The drapes are fairly new. I had not changed the hardware yet.
He had to cut the eight foot twist rod in half.
We have two windows and they didn't come smaller.
All the drapery hardware is from Lowes.
The blue paint color is called Misty at at SW stores.
The carved furniture is from Haverty's.
It was our anniversary gift a few years ago.
The barley twist lamps are from Lowes.
The painting is called Dance Me To The End Of Love.
I adore decorative pillows. Can you tell?
The brown one is new from Kirklands.
The armoire is my favorite piece of this set of furniture.
It reminds me of the Narnia movie.
This is my writing desk from Bombay Co.
The tasseled bench is from Lowes.
This is the door leading to the bathroom.
The large iron topper is from Kirklands.
The triple dresser. The slipper chair is from Marshalls.
The runner and rose box are from Ross. My jewel box is QVC.
Here you can see the rods are a match to the dark furniture.
The rod is a twist style like the posts of the bed .
Here is a close up view of the end finials.
I changed the holdbacks to a finial dark color to match.
The draperies are from BB& Beyond.
Have a wonderful week!

Hi Melissa. That is one beautiful room. I love the furniture and all the details you have in there. The new larger drapery rod is perfect. Isn't it funny how you can be happy with one thing for so long and then when you change it you realize that's what it needed? I do that too.

Everything is just gorgeous!

Melissa,

I am so glad that you included so much more of your bedroom than just the window hardware!! And the new hardware is gorgeous. Not only does it go with the bed posts and finials, it matches your candlestick lamp on your nightstand!!

I love the misty blue paint, blue is so pretty in a bedroom and I think it is making a big comeback~especially the aqua blues.

Your bedroom set is very much like mine, a little more ornate though. How I wish our room was as big as yours!! And I think your bedding is so elegant! I am a pillow person too and the more embellishments and satin, the better. I like the Vettriano painting, I have one too!

Finally, keep your doors locked~I want that slipper chair!! Great post from my favorite interior designer!!

xoxo

Lovely!!!

I knew a family in GA when I lived there that built a new home. They had an old armoire and they used to make them so some of the back panels came out. They built the house so this piece backed up to a staircase that led to a craft room for the children- you went through the furniture! It was so fun even as a 20-something year old!!

Love everything! I really really miss Bombay. I just got out of grad school, started making some money, and decorating my home from Bombay. Then they went out of business! I haven't found anywhere that I like as much. :( Questions - I'm thinking of painting my bedroom a soft blue as well. What color did you use? Also, is your bedding ivory or white? I have ivory and I'm trying to decide if I'll like it with the blue or if white would look better. Thanks! oh - I have similar twisty rods in my MB too and I love them!

You created a beautiful and serene haven for you and your husband. You included so many thoughtful and pretty touches everywhere I look. I like your choice for the new drapery rod it balances nicely with your large scale pieces.
It is to bad Bombay Company went out of business. I had not bought much from the for several years. They did not seem to keep up with the times and their merchandise seemed a bit pricy for the quality, but I still miss them.
