Hello Everyone!
I had a nice week of shopping and thought I
might share some of my newest finds with you.
Please join me.
They always inspire me.
It's displayed on the fireplace mantel.
His home is on the hearth and it was on sale for $5.
The date on it is 1937. Both of my parents birth years.
I thought that was pretty special.
at Kirklands in this miniature size.
Doesn't she have the cutest blog name?
Pay Jo a visit to view her Etsy shop.
I can't wait to start decorating.
I love the warm colors at that time of year.
for a few books. Do you shop with them?
This is the Farm Chicks recipe book.
I love it and can't wait to try a new recipe.
It is beautifully written.
I found this black clock at Target.
It was on clearance for $17!
A collage frame and shelf were added.
plaque from Dawn at Eventually Cottage.
I admired it on her blog and she mailed me
one just because. Thank you Dawn!
Pay her a visit to view her Etsy shop.
Actually I think he's standing guard.
I finally added a C to his room.
Do you think he can read it?
It's just a wonderful book!

What a killer shopping trip. I love all your finds. That darling fat bird, SOOO CUTE! love the monogramed pillow and I am a huge fan of signs. Maybe I will make that a future post. Your style and home again is exquisite. P.S. thanks for visiting my blog too! JenGlamGirl
You really found some great things Melissa! Love the little black clock, and that zebra pillow is fantastic. Chestnut is a cutie pie, so glad he got his own letter. But he really doesn't look like he shares his food with anyone lol! He must be related to Sax. Hope you have a great weekend. Kathy
Hi Melissa, I had such a good time scrolling down your post and then see at the end you left a note about the Rooster Party. That was so thoughtful of you....I truly appreciate it.
I love all your things but your attention to the SMALLEST detail completely impresses me. I have to have one of those Kirkland signs....oh, I love that.
Such a lovely post....thank you!
Blessings to you,
Barb :-)
Looks like you had a nice little shopping excursion, Melissa! Now, you put the ribbons on your plaques and pictures after purchase? I like it ~ it adds a little something that might otherwise be plain.
Whoa girl!!! Now that is what I call a shopping trip!!!! What amazing fantabulous finds!!!!!! And you have such an eye for accessorizing things just right!!! Can you come do my house?!? Pretty please!!! :-)
Your posts always inspire me!!! You are a true blessing , my friend! Big {{{hugs}}}
What a fun shopping spree It would be wonderful to have places like that to shop in our small town :))
I too love the fluer d lis plaque. The monogram pillow is fabulous!! You have wonderful taste!!
OMG I LOVE everything you bought, Melissa. Your home is so classy. I love that little plump bird and all your pillows...heck I love everything. :) I think it is so cute you even got a "C" FOR Chestnut. You know, I'd love to do a room for my cats but they're with me most of the time! Hmmm...I do have a guest bedroom. Maybe I will make it more a cat room then! You have inspired me. However, I will need a cat bed with leopard print on it for sure. Lol!
Man, I have got to go to Kirkland's! Great stuff. I love the little green bird! So cute. :)
You're such a good shopper! I love it all! I love seeing pics of your home--it's so beautiful! I always get good ideas!
Melissa dear you have the most beautiful, love filled home...and always filled with the most sweet, creative touches..it so reflects you. Love, Cindy
You make me want to rush out to Kirkland's at this very minute! Do you know that I spotted that same green bird at Cracker Barrel recently and almost bought it? I'm kicking myself now!
That's pretty cute that Chester now has his own monogram in his room.
Hey our parents are very close in age. My dad born in 1938 and my mom born in 1940!
Fun decorations! I loved Kirklands so much but recently they closed their store here in Utah in the city I live. Pretty sad day for me :(
I love all of the pillows you found!! They ar so cute!! I can never decide which ones to get, so my sofas really need some. I see you are changing out candle colors for fall... I am planning on doing that this week, too. I can't wait for fall. Right now I am trying to come up with ideas for my mantle. I took the painting down and want only seasonal displays up there. It is a little harder than I thought it would be. I know that if I keep coming here, I will always be inspired!! Thanks, Melissa!! :)
Oh Melissa, everything is just gorgeous. I love it all. Such pretty pillows and I really like the small ones too, they are so cute and the animal print looks so pretty in your house. Your clock, the initials, candles and tassel are all great finds. You really did good this week. Great finds. Hugs, Marty
Woooah! You did do some shopping! I love the little lepord pillow and I am debating on whether I need the Farm Chicks Cook Book....I think I do!
:) Your home is so pretty and your bonus room is coming along very nicely!

Noelle :)
You always find the best things at your Kirklands. I'm telling you - I don't have that luck. Maybe I don't go often enough. Everything you got is just perfect. :)
You know, my favorite reason to go to Cracker Barrel is the shopping. My husband loves the beans 'n greens so it all works out.
Gosh I need to get to Kirklands, they just built a new one in our town that opened Monday...
Melissa, I am so thrilled to find out you found a cloche. I always so admire your creativity and I can't wait to see what you come up with. Great fun!!! Hugs, Marty

You found some great things to beautify your home! Even the cat gets his own plaque? Awesome!
It was good to see all you got and how you decorate with it. I love the warm colors of fall too.
Hi Melissa,
Wow you have been having fun and finding cute things. Love that initial pillow, feel lucky, I can hardly ever find a Q in anything.
I have a thing for pretty pillows too.
Like that wine plaque plate thing, that is cute. All cute things, glad you had fun.
Hey, I started the repainting of the masterbed room, go see on my blog. I am going chocolate and not turning back. Found pretty silvery teal blue drapes ( the accent color in the new bedding).
Can't wait to get it all done.
Some of it going to be harder than just painting though. Like the scarping of the ceiling, ick!
Linda Q
It looks like you had a very successful shopping trip, friend! I love it all, especially the green bird, mini pillows and "M" pillow. The placement of everything in the house looks wonderful too :)
Hi Melissa, What great finds! I love the little leopard print pillow and especially love the zebra pillow. I just added a zebra pillow to my sofa, Hobby Lobby is ordering me 3 more. Love your "m" pillow too, I recently made a "B" pillow I will be posting about sometime. Thanks for the nice comments on my aunt and uncle's house. I was so glad she let me come over and take pictures. She hasn't read all the comments because she knows nothing about blogging and doesn't have time to get on the computer much, but I told her everyone was raving about it! I will be posting more pics tomorrow. I will be ordering that blogging book too, thanks for posting about it. Talk to you soon, Kristen

great post. I thought about you while in North Carolina and Virginia! I wish I could have arranged to meet you in time...maybe next year...by then we'll be meeting here in H-town! Do you have to lock Chester in his room to keep the tassels in 1 pc?? great books, I ordered from Amazon Nell Hill's, Feather your Nest, a halloween decor book and Matthew Mead's, Entertaining Simply. love your books. Maybe you noticed I just am STILL trying to get a pic posted instead of shadowy creature. I finally just did a girl in the country image. I don't know how to even show people how to access anything here.
Listen Melissa. I love your house. I love Chester. I come here often to visit you, but I confess, I also come here to see whats new with Mr. Chester. Now I find he has his own room!
Can I move in? ;-) Your home is beautiful. The stuff you get are just perfect, I wish I had your eye for things like that!
You win the trophy! Great finds.
What lovely things! I think my favorite is the little bird- I like the variety of colors on him. Oh, wait- I like that monogrammed pillow and clock, too!
That little doll has been a handful! She even has a certain place on the tray she wants that cup to be and will move it if we happen to set it down elsewhere! But you're right, she is a doll! :)
Enjoy your weekend sweet friend!!
Hi Melissa,
What a wonderful shopping trip you had.
I love all the beautiful things you bought for the house.
You are a girl after my own heart, I love buying cushions and things for around the home.
Loved that you had the birth date of your parents on the plate.
Enjoy your weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

You just find the greatest things! I love the pillows especially the zebra print. I just got a great zebra print ottoman that I love!
Melissa, you decor is always so beautiful and warm! I loe all the new touches you've added, especially the fleur de lis things. I am working on some new inventory for my etsy shop...fleurs on canvas. They are soooo pretty!
Thank you for your sweet comment, as always! The large chunky finial I actually found at a yard sale, believe it or not. I LOVE it when I find good stuff that doesn't even need to be painted!
Hope you have a great weekend.
~Amanda

Hey Melissa
Thanks for your sweet comments on Miss G-4 she is a trip.
Love all your shopping finds and I want those books.
I forgot to look and see if you were ever able to get my button on your blog. Google is going nuts lately with the appear-diappearing act of pictures etc.
Cheri
What great things you found!
Hi Melissa! I love all of your finds...especially the bird from Cracker Barrel! I have to say, though, that when my staff saw that Chestnut has his own room, there was dissent among the ranks! lol They are now making demands of mangement and threatening to go on strike if they are not met! Happy wekend and hugs to Mr. C!!!...Debbie
hi Melissa! great to see you again..what a sweetheart you are!just came back from Gloria's blog and saw the beautiful new tassel, you are the nicest girl.
btw love the new finds, very pretty.everytime i walk into that store i think of you, i swear!(kirckland's)..have a wonderful weekend and i'll be back later...xx
Silvia.
Hi Melissa, Thanks for taking the second tour! I wish I could have put the dining room on, but it was full of things she's piled up for another house. She helps alot of people for free! I just love how she mixes so much together. I tend to play it safe and cordinate things more. Anyway, thanks for the compliment on my header. I made the "B" pillow from 2 different pillows actually. I cut one apart from Hobby Lobby. I will post about it soon. I wish I could sell them, but I think it would cost too much to make. Although, I would be happy to make you one, I'll post it soon, you might want to make your own! Just let me know about the frame...sure I can ship it to her, no problem. I am painting a desk to do my frames on, I'm trying to get everything organized. Talk to you soon, Kristen

Hi Melissa . . . found you on SITS Saturday Sharefest as the person who posted directly after you today. You've really got a lot of great decorating ideas which I'm also a fanatic about. I live in SC where my husband and I built our dream custom home on an acreage. My last 2 posts were about our little getaway up in NC mountains. I've added you to follow cuz I'm always interested in fresh new ideas! Thanks! ~ Roz
I love all your finds! They're so beautiful, and so is your home! I love it!
Wow. you had a "great" shopping week. I love all the pillows you found. I have a thing for pillows as well as tassles and that one is a beauty. Thanks for showing all your goodies.. hope all is well your way..hugs ~lynne~
I have never heard of Kirklands. Great finds. Everything is beautiful and looks great in your home.
I NEVER leave Kirklands empty handed!! Love all your goodies!
Hi Melissa, our shopping trip served you well. Some great purchases and such fun, huh ?
Your home is beautiful and so neat. I think homes should reflect us and our tastes surrounding us with love.
Have a happy holiday week and weekend.
I have had Blogging For Bliss in my cart at Amazon.com for weeks. Gotta get it ordered! I hear it's wonderful. I'm glad to see my Clyde isn't the only cat with his own room. But he doesn't have a "C" in place. Just his food bowl and water, which designates it as the cat/guest room.
Brenda
Thanks for stopping Melissa. I thought everyone was on vacation.
Your home is so gorgeous and I love the "Words" and Initials.
My computer is not behaving well lately. It's not so much the computer, but the wires coming into the house, etc. Safari shuts me down every time I close the laptop. Going to see what can be done this week. Maybe I can move !!!
You have a good week, too.
Hi Melissa!
I thought of you this past week when we moved Billie back to college. They have a HUGE Kirklands store there and I thought how fun it would be to see what we could see ;) I love all your new treasures; they are great!
Take care,
Sharon
Your home is so warm and inviting! I am so glad that you stopped by my blog.

Hi Melissa,
What a great shopping trip you had. Love all those sweet pillows. You have a great eye for accessorizing & do a terrific job.
Trying to catch up after a little break. Enjoy every visit.
I read your comment on Yellow Rose Arbor about your hubbies interest in NASA.
Hubby and I were there not too long ago and had lunch with astronaut Jon McBride. It was a pleasant experience.
I hope your hubby's wishes are realized.
WOw, absolutely gorgeous home!!

this is your 94th comment girlie! I'm soooo intimidated by blogs with 1200 followers and 100 comments being left. I tried to get over to Kirklands on 1st day of school freedom...but alas I never made it that far. I want some of those lil pillow loves.
xox!!
Melissa, I sure hope you are feeling better by now.....!
Everytime I see my Kirkland's sweet sign, I think of you.....isn't Blogland wonderful?!
Feel better soon.
Hugs and smiles, Barb :-)

Hi, visiting from SITS. How quick can you get to my house in PA? My dining room and living room have the burgundy/taupe colors. You are so skilled at accessorizing. A new Home Goods is right down the road.
