Elegant Rooster Dishes

Hello Everyone!
It's time for the Rooster Party hosted
by Barb at Bella Vista. Pay this sweet
lady a visit for a complete list of participants.
In a previous post I showed you a small glimpse of my
new green dishes from Cracker Barrel's gift shop.
They are called Elegant Rooster and we are enjoying them.
Join me on tour of the dinette where I displayed them.
The dinette nook with the rooster tablescape.
Another view of the table.
The entire view of everything.
The quilted burgundy placemats are from Ross.
The plaid napkins are from Marshalls and
the white scroll napkin rings are from Pier 1.
Here is a close up of all the details.
It has hearts, a fleur de lis design and a beaded edge.
The dinner sized plate.
I found the green goblets at Target to match.
A colorful roo the rooster is taking center stage.
This spiral topiary is from the Ballard catalog.
It has a white textured pot with little dots and a finial.
At the top I placed a rooster tassel. It added the perfect touch.
A Colonial candle in an Indian Summer scent.
It smells delicious for this time of year.
A night time view.
Another night view.
Here are my rooster S/P shakers displayed on the stove.
Rhett & Chloe didn't want to be left out of the party.
Here are the details of them up close.
A few more rooster items.
Dish towels from Walmart, the matching bowls,
and paper rooster napkins with a ceramic holder.
Have a wonderful weekend!

So pretty! I love it that the dishes have the fleur de lis on them, too! My Granny used to collect roosters- seriously, they were all over the house and we'd tease about it! She had a large curio cabinet with a lot in there- not sure who ended up with them all!

Karen said...

I wish I would have known that roosters are so big(that should tell you something) because I was at a garage sale the other day and someone was selling a set of china with roosters on it. It was black and white. I thought it was really pretty. However, if I had walked in with another set of dished it could have been trouble. They were selling a full set of 12 for4 $35. Now I'm wondering if they ever sold it. Huh!
By the way...your table looks amazing!!

Hi Melissa, had to tell you I saw some glasses like yours in my local grocery store today only in blue. They were set out on a display. When I went to the shelves to look for them I couldn't see any! Didn't have time to ask about them, but I will keep my eyes out. I did see some plastic glasses that had roosters on them, thought about getting them, but would rather have the blue or green glasses cos I have nothing else with roosters on (plus hubby doesn't care for them!).
Have a fun weekend.

I went to moderating my post a little while ago because one of the big blogger gals suggested it.
Do you avoid leaving posts on blogs that are moderated before a post goes up?
I know I have suggested to everyone to get rid of the word verification-because one of the big blogger gals suggested it-it gives you no extra protection and it takes a lot of extra time when leaving a post and some people won't leave a post if they see it.

Hi Melissa, I know that I am #112 on your comment list for this post, but I just had to say more! We have built an apartment above our garage for my elderly parents (it took one whole year to complete!) and my mother has been drawn back to her 50s sensibility of decorating with roosters. Shopping for her new decor, I never knew these crazy birds were such a craze again. Anyhow, she bought many things as you did at Cracker Barrel, HSN, and Target. I LOVE this country look!
