Etsy Finds

Happy Autumn Everyone!
I wanted to take a moment and thank each of
you that left me a comment on my latest post.
Your words of encouragement mean so much to me.
I really appreciate having wonderful friends like you.
Things are really improving for me in just two weeks!
Here are my stats so far.
Pounds lost-13! WOW!
B/P this morning 104/70
I'm surprised and grateful it's working so well.
The healthy eating plan has been easy
in some ways and harder in others.
I miss my daily vanilla flavor coffee and Diet Cokes.
It's definitly worth it though! I'll keep you posted.
I'm already tolerating both medications but
I still would like to be off of them in the long term.
Time will tell.
Do you shop with Etsy?
If you don't know what it is you can read about it here.
I thought I would share with you a few of my
purchases. I found out about it through blogging.
Thanks to Shelley for giving me the idea for this post.
The Autumn blocks are handmade by Lynette.
She has a brand new Etsy shop and it's wonderful.
I created a vignette using a sage green pumpkin
from Kirklands and a scattering of fall leaves.
The pumpkin tassel on the lamp is from
"The Tassel House" handmade by Angela.
A close up of the glittery green pumpkin.
It's not from Etsy but I wanted to show you.
One more view going up the stairs.
The table is from JCPenney and the lamp from Lowes.
I found the green floral runner at Ross.
I ordered the vinyl wall words from Lynette.
This is the garage door leading inside.
I felt like it needed a little something here!
Last year Kristen made this Fall swag.
A close up of all the warm colors.
Kristen has a wonderful shop featuring
handmade frames of all kinds. I love initials!
Another initial frame made by Kristen.
Here is a hand painted sign featuring our initial
and last name. I added the stand and bow.
This is handmade by Susie.
Another "M"! I recently ordered this one
from Jeanne at "A Bushel and A Peck".
I found her in the book "Blogging For Bliss".
Another blackbird tassel by Angela and the
fleur di lis plaque is handmade by Dawn.
"Sweet" sign handmade by Amanda.
So cute!
An ivory fringe tassel for the lamps
in our family room is handmade by Jo.
A large leopard print tassel by Nancy.
One of my favorite tassels.
A redbird handmade by Miss Nancy.
Last Christmas I bought the large leopard ornaments
from Darlene and displayed them in a vase.
This year they are hanging on our ivory and gold tree.
I also recently won Darlene's anniversary giveaway!
She owns a handmade custom rug company and
here's what I won. My own custom initial rug!
Pictured below is a sample.
I don't have mine yet but I can't wait to show
it to you when I do receive it.
Thank you again Darlene for your generous giveaway!
This is just a small amount of what Etsy has to offer.
Pay your fellow blog friends a visit and shop with them.
They will really appreciate it!
Have a wonderful week!

Hi Melissa! I was just popping over to see how you are feeling and you've posted. That's a sweet surprise. I can not believe you've lost 13 pounds already. Dang! Nice job!! You have to be feeling better already. I'm so glad your BP is improving and the medications are going well. I've thought of you alot in the last week because I have gained a few pounds in the last year too. Pretty sure that blogging is partly too blame. I can sit here all day and look at pictures. Plus, there are all the wonderful recipes to try - and I do try them. :)

Your etsy finds are all gorgeous and I know the girls are grateful that you've put in a plug for them. I have ordered a few items too, mostly from bloggers. It's fun!

Hi Melissa, I'm so glad your blood pressure has dropped and you've lost weight! Alot of weight...wow! I bet it is hard to stay off the cokes and vanilla coffee. I'm glad the meds aren't bothering you. I've been feeling good, the last few days my heart hasn't beat out of wack at all! It was doing alot so I feel better now.

Your Autumn sign from Lynette is so cute! I'll have to go check her out! Thanks for posting about the frames and swag, I really appreciate that! I just finished making 8 more frames I will be posting later tonight (hopefully) I have some fall wreaths made, but cannot find boxes to ship them in anywhere! It's driving me crazy!

Your fall decor looks stunning... I have a little in my kitchen I will be posting soon. Thanks for taking a look at the pillow...I'm still working on finding pillows for the sofa. I took the zebra one back and bought 2 leopard and zebra pillows at Dilliard's. I liked them better, but still need some more coordinating pillows with black in them, I might have some made. Talk to you soon! Kristen

So glad to hear you are seeing results and feeling better already, Melissa! Yes, I have shopped etsy after discovering it this year from other bloggers. I have bought a tassel from Angela as well, and from others: blocks, another tassel, note cards, I have so many others saved in My Favorites under a special "etsy" folder!

I received an Honest Scrap award today and I have turned around and given it to 7 others ~ you are one of them! I just posted my post on it, so if you check out my most recent post, you will see what to do.

Melissa,

So happy to hear your meds are working!! Now, have you lost the weight from the medicine or a change in your diet? I am thrilled for you. 13 lbs.!! Wow.

You house looks beautiful. I love the tassels and I love all the initials. You embellish a lot with bows. Could you possbly tell us how you make such perfect bows?? Try as I might, they never look as good as yours!!

I love so many of the etsy shops...what do you think of the shipping prices? Each shop has a different method it seems.

Keep up the great work on your recent health problems. I think you are doing great, Melissa!!

Yep, love Etsy. I know Susie and Lynette. All fhose folks are so very talented. And I'm pretty sure it was a young man who brought about Etsy in the first place. Not a woman! I love your initials. If you have kids, when they're learning to talk they'll go about the house pointing out their letters! So glad the bp is down. That can be very scary, and women need to stay on top of that.

Mornin' Dearheart...

Yeeeehawwww!!! WOW!!! 13 pounds already? Darlin'...you're doing great!!! I'm so happy for you!!! Ohhh...and thats such a great BP reading too!!! You're gonna do it, Melissa...I just know it!!! Congratulations, Sweetie!!!

Ohhh Girlfriend, I really enjoyed this post that you've done about all of your pretty etsy finds! Love Lynette's "AUTUMN" blocks! That is such a beautiful vignette!!! Oooh...and that darling little sage green pumpkin is pretty too! This vignette is one of my favorites that I've seen for all the new autumn decor! You did good, Girl!!! Was trying to figure out where in your house that this fabulous table is?

Also love that gorgeous cabinet in your family room! I think it's the prettiest piece of furniture that I've ever seen! I love the style and lines of it!!! Ohhh...I want one! Hehe!

You have the most fabulous collection of tassles, Girl! Each one is simply gorgeous! I can't even pick a favorite because they're all sooo beautiful! I really want to try my hand at making one...I have the instructions...just need to get busy!

Also wanted to tell you that I just love the wall grouping that you did...the four pictures in the black frames! That looks fabulous!!! Love your pretty black and white damask "M" intial there beside them too! So very pretty! Girlfriend, you know that I just adore your home...it's gorgeous with a capital "G"!!! Hmmm...of maybe I should say it's magnificent with a capital "M" (for Miller)...hehe! Thank you for sharing all of your great etsy treasures with us...I loved seeing them all!!!

Well Darlin'...again, I'm just so very happy for you!!! Just a little secret about the weight loss thing...don't completely deprive yourself of everything that you enjoy! Like the vanilla coffee...just go get you some in a sugar free form! You'll be able to stay with this much easier! I only say this because I have dieted so much in my lifetime and have found that I can't deprive myself of everything that I love...I just won't stick to it then! Know what I mean? Sheeshh...I sound like an old "mother hen" talkin! Hehe! But you know that I love you and I'm in your cheering section, Darlin'!!!

Love ya,
Chari

Hi Melissa - I've been meaning to come around and ask after you and your health but now I see that it looks like you're well on your way to getting some better - I'm so glad for you! When my doc told me to give up caffeine I thought I would DIE - really. I still drink caffeine free diet pepsi, but that was tough for me. And the 13 lbs - that has got to feel good just all around - keep it up girl!

Thanks for showing the fall items -what a clever way to promote us ETSY girls - thanks so much for being you!!

Have a good one!

I'm so glad you're feeing better Melissa! You lost 13 lbs Wowee! that's wonderful!!

I wanted to tell you that I read an article about how drinking plenty of water is very important to keeping your blood pressure down and using sea salt instead table salt.

I'm always guzzling water and my pressure always seems to be good. After reading that I'll be switching now to sea salt too!!

Anyway...I'm sure you've probably had more than enough advise!!lol!

I love all your Fall pretties and displays!! Especially the Autumn blocks! I'm working on a banner decoration the spells Autumn too!

Take care, and have a wonderful day!

Hi Melissa, I meant to tell you how good your bows are looking!! I will be glad to do a post on making bows. In fact...Chari asked me to do that ALONG time ago and I have not done it yet. I feel so bad because I said I would! Shame on me!! I will post my frames tonight and in a few days I am going to do a giveaway. But after that...I will do a bow post. I might do a video...but if it turns out bad I'll have to just take step by step pics. I might not like the way my Arkansas accent sounds on video.lol...

Kevin has not had his surgery yet. We are still waiting for the dr. to schedule it. It was supposed to be this week, but then we ran into some insurance problems. The dr. he is seeing is in Fayetteville (an hour away)and that's where his surgery will be. There is not a dr. that specializes in what he needs done here. It's a long story but basically they were saying it was out of network and they were not going to cover it. We had to prove there was not a dr. here that could do the surgery. Finally they gave us an exeption! Thank goodness...we are covered! It will probably be next week, let's just say he is not looking forward to it!! talk to you soon, Kristen

Hi, you sweet girl! I love what you've done for fall. You always have lovely projects.

I have been without my computer and am on a borrowed one. I'm so sorry to hear about your health issue. I have to lose weight, too, and I'm on a restricted diet. It's coming off slower than it did a few years ago. Stick to it, Melissa, and you will be your same tiny self. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and got into clothes I had kept from twenty years before! :-)

I hope to be blogging next week.

Love to you and best with your diet...

XO,

Sheila :-)
