Could you buy one of the wooden ones and paint it a glossy color and hot glue it on? It seems like it'd pop out of the iron a little if it were wooden, but I don't know if that's the right "mediium." Congrats to Traci- Melissa's goody boxes are FANTASTIC!!! :)

Now, about that topper - if you knew someone that had an Etsy shop that created vinyl letters that you could get to make an initial for that lovely scroll up there you'd be set - do you know of ANYONE like that? Ha - I have TONS of fonts - when you get a minute, email me and we'll chat! ;-)

Beautiful Monograms Melissa! Thanks so much for the shout out. I already had a lady come over from your blog interested in the frames. I am fixing to post about 35 or more in my Etsy store tomorrow and Sat. I really need to get them posted! I've had alot of people e-mail me about them.

I love the jar with the monogram...too cute! I saw some pretty monogram ornaments at Kirklands

We are definitly relieved about Kevin. The doctor really thinks it will not grow, but it will still need to be checked in 6 months. We can deal with that, we were so thankful it wasn't cancer. Kevin's mom died 2 years ago of cancer and I had a friend die this summer. I just hate it!

We have our first house to decorate tomorrow, I can't believe it's that time already!! Talk to you soon, Kristen

Oh, I so enjoyed that little tour. What an exquisite home you have. I really like your style. That is a gorgeous wedding picture and frame - just magnificent! I also loved your little black desk with the curved sides.

You've now given me something else to start craving: initials! One good thing, I can see that you really can't have too many! Actually I did buy my first initial two days ago - a "C" from a thrift store. It's about 12 in. tall and in a cream color. I have no idea where to put it but I'll have fun figuring that out...

Congrats to your winner, Melissa, and I love all of your monograms!

BTW, I discovered something new after two more posters asked how to follow my blog. I know you had asked. All you need to do is go up to the top of the page when you go to my blog, and there is a word that says follow. Click on that, and you're good to go! It's a piece of cake! I discovered this the other day.

Hi Melissa I came over via Kristen...

Love your blog.

Kathy :)

The Quintessential Magpie said...

Hi, Melissa!

On the top of every blog, there is a blue line. In the corner of that dark blue line there is a "B" in a red box. Next to that red box with the letter "B" is a long white rectangle. Then there are the following words: Follow, Share, Report Abuse, Next Blog. If you click on the word Follow on the top of my blog, it will take you there, and it will give you the option to follow. It's just above the blog header. I see it on your blog, too. I discovered this recently.

There's a reason I don't put my followers out there which I won't go into here, but that's how I follow all blogs now. :-) I just click on the word "Follow" and it brings up a button where you can follow.

I'm the little blue bird on your followers list. :-)

The Quintessential Magpie said...

Oh, and one last thing, Melissa. You have to be signed into blogger to see it! That might be why you didn't!

I learned about your giveaway AND your fantastic blog through Traci so I think it is fitting that she won :).

I am a bit monogram crazy as well. I have an "H" on the front door wreath, and "H" on our welcome mat, and an "H" on the porch pillow. The UPS man said to me the other day, "Someone that lives here is crazy about the letter H, huh?" I just smiled and told him that it was the letter of the day!

Love all of your "M's"!

Congratulations to the winner!

I love monograms! The one on your nightlite is sweet! The over the door thingie - is that what you want to paint a monogram on that you were asking me about?

All I do is print out the letter in a font that I like. Then I take some tracing paper or your can take a plain piece of paper and cover it with pencil. Lay the tracing paper and initial on the object and trace, transferring the letter. Then I go back with either a paint pen or paint and fill it in. Very easy. A paint pen is a bit easier to handle if you don't have a steady hand.
