Red Home Decor'

Hello Everyone!
Red is my favorite color hands down!
I thought I would share some of my favorite items.
Here are the red draperies in our living room.
I have always wanted to try the puddling effect. This is our red and yellow cheerful guest room.
The bedding is by Wamsutta at BB& Beyond.
A red strawberry candle by Paula Deen. I found this red grape jar at Pier 1 and we fill it with coffee.
Another beautiful frame made by Kristen.
This one is my favorite. I really love the red crocodile.

Fleur De Lis Decor'

Hello Everyone!
Have you noticed you decorate with the same things?
I just realized how much I use the fleur de lis symbol.
It is found everywhere in our home. It surprised me!
The fleur de lis is French and means lily flower.
It is associated with French and Spanish monarchy.
I chose our door never realizing it had the symbol on it. A silk pillow. Another beautiful tassel made by Nancy.
I found this metal plate at a hospital gift shop. A finial for a table. Wooden finials from Marshalls.
I didn't even realize they were fleur de lis until now.
A fleur de lis accent mirror and a plate.
I've had the mirror for years and it's also from Marshalls.
I ordered a new crown from Mary recently.
She came across a few and offered to sell them to us.
I opened the box and saw more of the design.
The large Lenox vase we received as a wedding gift. A close up of the sweet mini crown.
I think it's a very regal and elegant symbol.
Do any of you use it in your home decor'?
Have a wonderful week!

Misty Master Suite

Hello Everyone!
This is my first time participating in Blue Monday.
It's hosted by sweet Sally at Smiling Sally.
Please visit her for a list of other posts.
Our master suite is decorated in tranquil shades of
blue and is different than the rest of our home.
Accents are in silver, black and chocolate browns.
The paint is called Misty.
It's by Martha Stewart found at Sherwin Williams.
It's a contrast to our dark furniture from Haverty's.
The ivory bedding is made by Thomasville.
This desk matched and is from the Bombay Company.
The tasseled bench is from Lowes.
The anniversary frame was handmade by Kristen.
Our 10 year anniversary is coming up this Friday.
What a wonderful keepsake. Thanks Kristen!
This little cresent table is from Kirklands.
I found the scroll bowl at a local pottery store.
The carved armoire is my favorite piece.
It reminds me of the movie The Chronicles of Narnia.
Here is the matching triple dresser.
The spiral lamps and beaded shades are from Lowes.
A black velvet slipper chair from Marshalls.
The jewel chest with a flower is from QVC.
I painted our adjoining bathroom in the same shade.
Blue shell prints are from Kirklands.
Towels and area rugs from BB& Beyond. Here is the vanity area. I love the huge mirror!
Ahhh... My garden soaking tub.
Glass apothacary jars filled with soap and lotion.
They are tied with a wired ribbon. Hanging from the mirror is a silver ornament tassel. This wood shelf is displayed with a few items.
Have a wonderful week!

Our Home In Each Season

Hello Everyone!
It's time for an event called Outdoor Wednesday.
It's by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.
Please visit her for a list of all the participants.
This is our home through the change of seasons.
This photo was taken in the spring of 06'.
The day our brand new landscaping was installed.
We had been living for a few months with nothing
but dirt and a few bushes since our home was new.
I was so excited to have this completed.
This is the summer of 08' and this day was a scorcher.
The landscaping had begun to mature.
Some trees had to be replaced for a heartier type.
It was a rainy fall day in 08' for this photo.
I had just purchased a fall swag for the front door.
I finished the look with bright red mums.
We had snow in the winter of 09'.
A few weeks ago we had a fair amount of it for
this part of coastal North Carolina. It was fun day!
Have a wonderful week!

My Very Own Roo

Hello Everyone!
It's the first edition of Tablescape Thursday.
It's a brand new day of the week for this event.
Visit Susan at Between Naps On The Porch for more.
Here is my roo as a centerpiece.
He is decorated with fruit and is an actual planter.
I had some twigs and berries I displayed inside.
I found the red dishes at Marshalls.
They are made by Roscher.
They are very sturdy for everday use.
I like the mix of square and round shapes.
I found the plaid placemats at BB& Beyond on sale.
A local pottery store is closing soon and
I bought the fringed green napkins and
gold rooster napkin rings for a great price.
I decorated with sugared fruit and dried flowers.
The green jar candle is from QVC.
The red glasses are from Target.
Tonights menu is chili. It's freezing tonight!
I made a vignette for the bar to blend in with the table.
The rooster napkins are in each bowl at the table.
For dessert brownie pie with whipped cream.
More cold weather comfort food.

Have a wonderful week!
