Flaunt Your Red

Hello Everyone!
It's time to flaunt your red!
I have touches of red throughout our home.
It's my favorite color hands down.
I love the pop it gives to a space.
This deep burgundy leather chair and
ottoman came from Sams Club.
I really liked the nailhead trim.
Here is my latest red find.
It's a bee pillow from Kirklands.
Thr trio of pillows came from Kohls.
A red brocade runner is draped across our mantle.
This tuscan sunset print has warm shades of red.
The red valance is way up high in our foyer.
The wine prints came from Kirklands
and the leaf plate from BB& Beyond.
I love the vibrant red against our dark granite.
The tuscan grape canister set was ordered
from the Touch of Class website.
The other one is from Sams and was the
inspiration for our kitchen color scheme.
I bought it years ago with biscotti inside.
I always hoped to decorate with it one day.
The guest bath shower curtain and rose towels.
The upstairs niche with a flower arrangement.
The red roses are in our guest bath.
Both from Kirklands.
A tropical palm print and a rose print in our guest areas.
The iron scroll clock and candleholders
are displayed on a corner shelf.
They both came from a local pottery
store that has now closed.
It had great home decor'. I miss it.
Instead of home decor'.
I thought I would share my favorite red items.
My shiny red cell phone & hot tamales candy.
I can eat an entire box at once even
though my tongue starts burning.
I should quit doing that for a few reasons.
Next in red is our pet betta named Mars.
He is the coolest fish with blue eyes.
Has anyone else ever seen a blue eyed betta?
His bowl sits in our office and he watches me blog.
He says feed me!
Have a wonderful week!

Pink Spring Vignette

Hello Everyone!
It's time for Pink Saturday hosted by
Pay her a visit to see all the pink posts.
I had pink on the brain all week and decided
to try a spring vignette inspired by the color.
I went with a warm shade of hot pink.
I found the spring flowers at Kirklands.
The pink plaid runner is from Marshalls.
It matches the Easter table for my future TT post.
If you enlarge the photo you can catch a glimpse of it.
Look at all the different shades of pink in the flowers.
Here are a white dove pair and a baby dove.
Just in case you wonder who the ladies
are they are wearing the pink ribbons.
A sign to welcome Spring. A cute little nest with eggs.
A close up of the pair and their baby.
Hot pink striped ribbon made into bows.
It was fun decorating with this color.
Happy 1st day of spring!

Pillow Parade

Hello Everyone!
It's my very first time participating in
Met Monday at Between Naps On The Porch.
Pay this blog a visit and you are in for a treat.
A few weeks ago I showed you our bedroom.
I have made a few subtle changes since then.
Here is the before photo from my previous post.
They can be enlarged when clicked.
Here is the after photo with new draperies
done in chocolate brown and aqua blue.
A runner for the dresser adds softness to the dark wood.
The drapes I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond.
They are from the "Addison" collection.
I added the tassels in the same colors.
I think I could put a tassels anywhere!
Here is a closeup of the scroll pattern.
A far off view as well.
The new runner I found at Ross.
I think it ties all the blues together.
Look at my newest "M" frame from Kristen!
She is wonderful at custom making any style.
The ivory box is also from Ross.
I thought of Vanna when I spotted it.
I freshened up the bed with pillows.
I thought I would share them.
The newest ones have an ivory
brocade with a few blue touches.
I also found them at Ross.
I wanted to give you an update on our move...
at this time it does not look like we will be moving!
one huge drawback to this is that my
husband will have to serve a year in Iraq.
Leaving me...alone...Yikes!
I know he's in the USMC and it's part
of his job but it will still be really hard.
We don't know any exact details as of yet.
Thank you for all of your words of encouragment.
Your friendship means so much to me.
Have a wonderful week!

Light The Way

Hello Everyone!
Recently one of my blogger friends Nicole
Nicole's Treasure Chest did a post about her
lamp obssession and it gave me an idea to post.
Thanks Nicole!
One of the most important ways to make a room feel
warm and cozy is by using enough lamps and lighting.
I'll show you many examples throughout our home.
All photos can be enlarged when clicked.
This is our formal dining room and kichen dinette.
Both fixtures are from Quorums Coronado collection. The pendants over the bar are are the same collection.
A fluted floor lamp in the family room is by the fireplace.
The entry way has two light sources above and below.
I bought the table lamp at Lowes and it is a
perfect match to the hanging fixture above.
Funny how that works out sometimes.
Please excuse the cobwebs way up high.
I am going to get the ladder for spring cleaning soon.
The end table pineapple lamps are from JCPenney.
I found the birdcage lamp from JCPenney.
The end table lamps are made by Kathy Ireland.
I ordered them from Lamps Plus.
The iron buffet lamps are also from Lamps Plus.
The sconce is battery operated and is from QVC.
Hall light and sconce are more of the Coronado collection.
I like to use accent lighting in unexpected places.
A sweet mini lamp on a kitchen buffet.
A lamp above the fridge is from Kirklands.
Another one in our guest bath is from Target.
Iron guest bathroom lights are made by Minka.
The urn lamp is in our guest room and is at Target.
Barley twist in our master bedroom are from Lowes.
The hammered silver desk lamp is from Kirklands.
A black and silver mini lamp in our bonus room.
For me no home would be complete without lights everywhere.
As you can see I love them!
Yes, more night lights...
They are taking over our home.

Do you use many lamps throughout your home?
Do you have unique ideas of where to place them?
I would love to hear about them.

Happy daylight savings time!

Poulet' Recipe

Hello Everyone!
It's time for Foodie Friday at Designs by Gollum.
One of our favorite comforting meals is called poulet'.
It's a delicious chicken casserole that is easy to make.
Add a fresh green salad and you are ready to serve.
Here are the main ingredients that you will need.
10 ou package of Pepperidge Farm stuffing
1 cup of chicken broth
1 1/2 cups of milk
1/2 cup of mayo
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/cup chopped celery
1/2 stick of melted butter
3 cups boiled tender chicken
2 eggs
Chop the onion into fairly small bite sized pieces.
Boil the chicken breasts.
You want them to stay moist.
I like the chicken to stay in decent chunks.
You may shred it or cut it smaller if you prefer.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
I like mine very moist so I add more broth.
Add S/P to taste.
Transfer to your ovenware dish.
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
Spread soup and sprinkle the cheese on the top.
Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
Have a wonderful week!

Home Interiors Giveaway

Hello Everyone!
A week ago I won a giveaway at Carolina Panache.
I was excited that I had won Alisa's giveaway!
She is a Home Interiors representative.
I was mailed a catalog to in which to chose my winnings.
It was filled with many beautiful items.
I really hard a hard time deciding.
Here is part of the Home Interiors spring catalog.
Look at the size of this box! Is it really for me?
I chose the prestige iron HOME plaques.
Here are the set of three kensington finials in gold.
Next I chose the prestige bath towel ring.
It's very tuscan in style.
I am very grateful to her. Thank you Alisa!
I am impressed with the quality of Home Interiors.
They have been around for fifty years.
Do you have any of their products at home?
Have a wonderful week!
