Red Painted Niche

Hello Everyone!

Remember the niche in my previous post?

Well here it is now all spiffed up in red.

Thank you very much for all of your feedback.

You had some very creative ideas.

Overall painting it was the easiest way to go.

What a change huh?

I added old paint and ting to the flower arrangement

The large flower prints I wasn't using.

That's it!

I think it looks completely different.

Nothing like shopping our own homes for updates.
Do you like the changes?

In the family room I added a brocade runner and pillow. The runner is from Ross.
The pillow is from Kirklands.
Here is a swivel chair by the stone fireplace.
I have a red throw and what I call the fire pillow.
It looks like flames to me. It's from Marshalls.
I found a new runner from Ross for the dining table.
It has red brocade flowers in the design.
Here's a corner pedastal table in the dining room.
Red flowers and hanging plates are from Kirklands.
The artwork is red and says believe.
A red and black eiffel tower tassel.
This is one of my favorite photos of us.
It's from the Marine Corps Ball of 2001.
I still have this red beaded dress. Great memories!
Here is some yummy strawberry jello.
We have been preparing this sugar
free dessert for a month straight.
It's really easy and delicious.

Hello Everyone!

It's time for another Wall Wednesday.

Here is a basket I found at Kirklands.

I had been searching for just the right item.

I added a faux red fern for no fuss.

The live fern in the corner is even larger now.

I think we are going to have to name it.

I also wanted to share with you the

big key I have in the entrance foyer.

I found it at BB& Beyond.
I wonder why they are so popular now?
Does anyone know the story on them?
Upstairs in the hallway I added a fleur de lis plate.
I'm thinking about painting this niche area an
accent color and adding shelves to it for display.
What do you think? Any other ideas?

I have never known quite what to do to this spot. Here is a close up of the plate. It's also from Kirklands.
I picked up this sign at Kirklands.

It's hanging by the door to remind us before we leave.
I may change out the ribbon to leopard print.

I just adore warm color!

The paint is called Rutabaga by Martha Stewart.

The furniture is from JCP and the bedding is Wamsutta.
The corner palm tree is from Kirklands.
The urn lamp is from Target.
I added palms for a tropical feel.
The corner shelf holds fun accessories.
The window lets in lots of light during the day.

Kitchen Dinette Drapes

Hello Everyone!

It's time for Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch.

Here is our kitchen dinette area before.

After!
I recently purchased new draperies.
They are called Richfield and are from BB& Beyond.
I bought them in gold and it was a perfect match
to the paint called Applesauce Cake from Lowes.

I decided I like leaving the cafe style valances in the center.
The red paint is Cooper Molero Fandango Red at Lowes.They have a leaf print design with burgundy accents.
The bronze leaf finial rod is from Lowes.
I don't buy patterns but I decided to try a new style.
I am really happy with the results.
It makes the room feel warm and cozy.

Porch & Patio Party

Hello Everyone! 

 ~WELCOME~

Our porch is ready for summer with the cheerful geraniums.
Our japanese maple is looking fuller than ever.
The spiral urns are from the Home Decorators catalog.
A garden flag and a power washing completed the spruce up.
Look at this huge boston fern. It's doubled in size.
The flower is called fuschia and they attract hummingbirds.
I usually have no luck with flowers but they are doing well.

The red geraniums close up.
Now this hosta plant is a mystery to me.
Every summer the deer eat them all.
Then in the fall I just cover the stems with mulch.
And then this is the result. I can't believe it!
Let's visit the covered back deck now.
This is our relaxing outdoor furniture from Sams Club.
I added some new throw pillows from Target.
Sage green outdoor rug is from Ballards.
Swivel rockers complete the set.
A gurgling outdoor fountain sounds soothing.
My deep purple petunias are thriving.
Another boston fern in a black urn.
We recently stained the deck in redwood.
The hanging ferns are called kimberly queens.
This is the first year we have hung them up.
I'm really enjoying their classic southern style.
They make me think of sweet tea.

We added a new hummingbird feeder and it is neat to see them eat.
They are so cute.
