Keys Please

Hello Everyone!
Brrr...It is cold and windy here in NC today.
I hope all is well where you are. Stay warm!
I ordered some items with my Pottery Barn
gift card that I won from The Stylish House
and these vintage looking keys were part of it.
Can you help me decide what to do with them?
I have always admired keys and now I'm stuck.
Take a look where I hung them for now.
This candle trio is displayed in our entry hall.
I draped them here with some plaid ribbon.
Should I create a shadow box frame? Any more ideas?
I know my blogger friends are very creative.
A set of 7 in total. For $19 at Pottery Barn.
Have a great weekend!

I like those!! I can't wait to see what you do with them. It makes me a laugh a little since my key for the apartment here looks an awful lot like those! ha!

Your home is so beautiful!!! I like the keys were you have them!

Hey! I like the keys where you have them everything in your house is beautiful! I just ordered some for myself. Where did you get the candles?

Stacey said...

I've been admiring those keys too. Since they are a little bit larger than the real thing, how about separating them and hanging two or three at a time. I have a couple that hang on a cloche and I love it!

What else did you get? That was such an awesome win.

Hello Allyson,
Thank you for your kind visit! The candlestick trio came from Sams Club about three years ago. It was a Christmas item that year.

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope to see you back here again soon.

How fun! I like the idea of a shadow box with a pic of your family in front of your home, maybe? Or separate them out and use them in different spots! Glad you found some great things with your gift card!
Blessings,
Stacey

I love the keys! Framing them is a good idea, although they look cute hanging from your candlesticks. You're so creative Melissa,I know you'll think of something beautiful!

I have some old looking keys like that in my house. Two sets, actually. One is hanging on the knob of the entryway/coat closet. The other is hanging on a hook by the front door. Looks like you could just grab them and go, but it's purely decoration!

I saw this on another blog and thought it was too cute:

I like the suggestion of splitting them up and placing them throughout your home....

A lot of people, myself included, did some sort of framing with them and their similar cousins. I really like the way you are using them. I'll bet they would look good with a tassel attached and hanging off a knob or lamp.

They remind me of the emperors and kings candles. Maybe it's the look of bronze but I feel if I put it in my house, I get beheaded because I'm just a peasant!

The keys are very cool! What is Pottery Barn doing with them? What I mean is, how is Pottery Barn displaying them... I have some of the real thing and I have been wondering what I can do with them. I'm not the most creative. I think they look nice on your candlesticks...

Have a great weekend, Melissa! :-)

Hi Melissa! Isn't it fun to go shopping especially if it does not cost you anything? I like the keys but I wouldn't know where to put them either. Maybe hang them on a cabinet or armoire pull like you would a tassel....Christine

very cool Melissa. I love those keys Lucky you to have purchased them. I thin a shadow box would be wonderful. I know you will have fun figuring something out, Kathysue

They are really nice! I think displaying them separately would bring more attention to them. A shadow box might be a good idea ~ I'm not very creative tonight.

Oh, I feel like a dunce too! I've been responding to your comments via email and just realized there was not a valid email addy. *embarrassed*

Anyway, everything is beautiful, as usual! Thanks for sharing ~

haha! I am the one who has trouble keeping keys. I always tend to forget them when i go out my room, realizing i dont have them right after i lock the door from behind. so i always carry only the same bag to work and when i go home and opened the door, i put back to the bag the keys right away. :)

btw, girl, perhaps you'd like to win some fancy accessories? we have a contest going :)

Love them! I have some vintage keys hanging in my kitchen off some hooks. I like the shadow box idea but I think being able to hang them off different things (sort of like a tassel) would give you more versatility.

Thanks Melissa for coming by. So glad you did so I can drool over your lovely home. Those keys look great right where you have them. When I buy something new that I think I just must have, I get home and walk around saying where is this going?? I guess most of us do that! Your kitchen and all the new goodies are awesome. Your granite looks like what I have in my master bath. We have a light color in the kitchen. I look forward to more of your posts. I am going to follow you...Kim

Hehe! I think they look really pretty where you have them!!! Your entry hall is sooo beautiful, Girlfriend! I love that feathery wreath!!!

Well sweet girl...ya'll have a fabulous weekend!!! I'll talk with you later...

Lucky you! I love the PB keys and the way you displayed them. Just a little head's up...did you know that you can ask what the unadvertised sale item are (because they change every week) and you can save a lot of money. These items are only for catalog customers only, you won't see these prices listed online or in the catalog, so you can save a ton of money!

I think they look great where you've got them.

I have an old skeleton key hung by a ribbon around a piece of old sheet music that I adhered to the circumference of a chunky candle which I like. Stopping by from SITS roll call!

Hi Melissa--Somehow I missed this post of yours when you first published it. But I'm leaving a comment now just to tell you that I bought the very same set of PB keys. I framed three of them (the three smallest), and I love the way they look. If you'd like to see, here's a link: http://impartinggrace-richella.blogspot.com/2010/02/more-diy-wall-art.html . I painted mine oil-rubbed bronze because the color didn't seem quite right for where I wanted to use them. But they're the same keys!

Hope you're doing great. I keep looking for pictures of you. . . I think you need to post a photo of your new, slim, healthy self! Take care!
