Kitchen Updates

Hello Everyone!
I've been sprucing up our kitchen with a few changes
lately since we cook almost every meal at home.
I'm doing well with my healthy eating and am down 41 pds!
Join me and I'll show you our new kitchen updates.
I heart Paula Deen. I had been seeing her red cookware set
everywhere and just had to try it. It is a great set. The non stick frying pans work really well for eggs.
It also came with two utensils.
Here's the entire set. We purchased ours on
I added the link here. It is carried at many stores too.
They are not dishwasher safe but for us that is just fine.
It's just the two of us. I really love the warm red color
and the glass lids are so nice to be able to see inside.
I think they were a super value.
We needed a knife set and I found this one on
Paula Deen to the rescue again. These work well for us.
Here is the box. I added the link here.
Our faucet broke a few weeks ago and I started searching for one.
I guess I'm picky because it took me forever to decide on it.
It's made by Delta and is called the Arabella.
Here is the link from Home Depot. It's only carried there.

My hubs installed it and I enjoyed washing the dishes.
My only regret is that the old one didn't break sooner.

I also put together a little rooster cloche.

I'm ready to start dinner tonight using our new items.
Have a wonderful week!

WOW - 41 pounds. That's terrific!! And I love your new pans. Paula's cookware is just oh, so homey. When we finish the kitchen, I'm treating myself to new pans and dishes. A person can NEVER have enough dishes and change is good for the soul! (I have a long list of excuses to justify what I want!)

Your kitchen is beautiful!!

Mari said...

41 pounds is an incredible achievement of self discipline. How long has it taken you so far? Wow. I am on that same journey and have lost only 13 pounds and have 25 to go. One step at a time...and yes, exercise more is the hardest challenge of it all.
Your kitchen is gorgeous and love the PD red pots and pans. How fun.

Lynette said...

I've seen those dishes too at Wal-Mart, but have the Pampered Chef set and with as little as I cook can't really see getting another set -

Love your red though - it goes great with your kitchen - love your rooster tassel and he looks great in your cloche!

Great job on the weight loss - keep up the good work!

Congrats on the lost weight! Don't worry, plateau won't last long.

Also, I think everyone needs a little Paula Deen in their kitchen!

Karen said...

I love your kitchen. I need a new faucet badly - but I'm hoping to get an entire new island. . . so hope it stays together for a little while longer. My island just is the most dysfunctional piece of cabinetry. A lunatic must've designed it.
I will keep your style faucet in mind. What I want is a POT FILLER behind the cooktop. Ahhhh, in my dreams.
HAGD! Karen

Hi Melissa,
Wow! Congratulations girlfriend ~ 41 lbs is awesome! I hope that you are as proud of yourself as we all are. I love the red cookware ~ love most anything red! :-) I'm glad you're enjoying them as well as the knives. There's just nothing like having sharp knives in the kitchen. Your kitchen is so beautiful ~ love the way it's laid out and the style. Neat idea with the cloche too! I haven't done one yet so I'm still behind in the cloche world. :-)

Thank you once again for allowing us into your gorgeous home! I hope you have a wonder*filled week. It's scheduled to snow again here...not looking forward to that.

Brightest blessings,

Nancy said...

Hi Melissa! 41 lbs! Yeah for you! I am still doing well. I do not want to lose anymore but am maintaining. Plateaus are not fun. Go online and read about some ways to trick your body out of the plateau. Your kitchen was absolutely gorgeous! Love the new faucet! Have a great week. Nancy from OHIO

thatdesigngal said...

OMG!!! 41! That's AMAZING!!!! YAY for you!!! :-)

I hear ya on the plateau. I have been training everyday with the trainers, and I told them that the weight loss has stopped. So what do they do? Yea, two training sessions a day twice a week and one day a week 6:00 in the morning. Absolutely brutal!!! But they say that you have to "shock" the body, and it has worked!

So I don't know if that helps in anyway, but that is straight from the trainers mouths and my tired body!!! :-) lol

Keep it up!

Yea on the weight loss. That's a big accomplishment. Love the kitche updates. My fil used to travel alot for work and went to Savannah for work every 2 weeks and he's met Paula Deen several times. He was eating at her brother's resturant one night and had one of the cookbooks and wanted to get it signed for my mil. Paula's brother signed it and told my fil that they were having a family dinner in the back and to come back there and meet everyone. So they proceeded to sit my fil down at their table and sign the cookbook and Paula had my fil trying all these different dishes off the table. He said she's extremely nice in person.

What a nice way to celebrate your weight loss by getting new (non-edible!) goodies for the kitchen. L-o-v-e the faucet. Ours broke not long ago, I should have looked longer-but it was a must have-so it's not as pretty as yours. Have you blogged about your weight loss before? I need to start something, but am not motivated because I don't know what I want to do.

Hi Melissa, What wonderful cookware! Love the color...of course. I'm in need of some new cookware, I would be embarrassed if you saw mine! Some of it we got for wedding gifts! I still can't believe all the weight you have lost...that is great! I bet you feel so good!

Thanks for the nice comments on the t.v./computer room I really don't know what to call it. Kevin says to call it HIS room. lol...I say it's MY room because I've been in there every night. Those recliners are soooo comfy, beats sitting on a couch any day! I'm happy with the way it turned out...especially the rug! Kevin is lovin it! I did post the room last year, but I think I only showed the sofa and old desk.

I worked yesterday...they really like my work so I'm working again tomorrow. I guess I have a little part time job! I will probably just work one day a week, just as they need me or if they have custom arrangements. The shop is beautiful! They have some gorgeous things...I better be careful or I will be bringing things home like I did at my last job! I still can't believe I had never been in there...funny how things work out!

Oh...your new faucet looks great! It looks like a really good one too. Sometimes it's good when things break! I wish my countertops would! Or my ugly old refridgerator, hehehe! Talk to you soon, Kristen
