Pretty Poppy Plates

Hello Everyone!
How is your week going?
Whew! It is hot and humid as can be here.
Summer has arrived and on that note I decided
it was time to create a warm weather tablescape.
Join me for some summer fun!
Poppies are popping up everywhere.
I have loved them ever since the Wizard of Oz.
I found the poppy plates at Ross for $6 for all four.
What? I never find a deal that good.
I would have bought more but that was all they had.
It's looking cheerful in green, white and the pops of red.
Here's the poppy plate up close to see the detail.
The napkins are BB& Beyond and the rings are at Pier 1.
The placemats and woven chargers are also from Ross.
The poppy arrangement is from Kirklands.
The bird S/P shakers are $3 at Pier 1.
Votives and gingham ribbon are at Michaels.
One more look at the precious poppy plates.
Have a great week!

Thanks Melissa! The front flower beds are looking much better than the back for some reason. When I posted a few weeks ago they were doing great. It had been about 2 weeks since I had put the miracle grow on them. They still look ok, but not as good as they looked a few weeks ago. I don't know why...they are getting plenty of sun and water. I just wish I knew what was killing my zuchini and squash. Ok... just checked my blog comments and someone said it's a worm that gets in the stem of the squash! I bet that's what it is.

I hope your shake n feed kicks in soon! I might be replacing a few plants soon too... Kristen

Melissa,
I wanted to thank you for your post on the Eat Clean Diet. I purchased both the cookbook and the eating plan book from Amazon. I had, as you know, initially lost 25 pounds but had recently come to a real standstill. Your post came at just the right time.

I did so enjoy this lovely post about the poppy plates. I also love the new pain colors you have selected for your home. As always, your home is beautifully decorated. It's a good thing I'm not your neighbor---I'd be such a pest. LOL

Blessings to you today, dear friend.

In Grace,
Marie

This is my first visit to your blog. I just discovered the Tablescape Thursday meme and am making the rounds today.

I love your poppy plates. And I love that you found them at Ross. That is probably my favorite store. I usually find great buys on dresses, but to be honest, I've never really looked for plates. Wow, have I been missing out!

Anyhow, thanks for sharing your lovely tablescape.

Blessings,

SO cute! I love Ross--our store is kind of messy, but sometimes I find the best deals there. . . like the cute little sundress I wore yesterday--$12.99! I've gotten so many compliments on it, and it's so cool and comfortable.

Love your summer tablescape! Stay cool.

Hi Melissa, I went to Lowe's yesterday too and most of the stuff was dying. I don't know why they can't water! Wal-mart does the same thing, I would think they would be loosing money. I ended up bying another squash plant. Most of those were dead too, but I ended up finding one that looked decent. I found out I have squash boring bugs and bought some stuff to treat them with. I'm hoping my other plant survives...it has some big squash on it right now!

You guys must be in a drought right now! It's been unusually hot here too...it was 98 yesterday. It's getting harder and harder for flowers to survive...Kevin's uncle is supposed to take care of our yard and animals next week. I have a little bit of anxiety about it, but I'm sure everything will be ok. I hope everything doesn't die!!

My aunt and uncle just came back from Disney World and said it was around 99 degrees! We are going to burn!lol...We are dressing very comfortably and wearing shorts. A spray fan is a great idea! I have one in the closet! I will get it out and pack it now before I forget.

Thanks for the tips! Have a great weekend!! Kristen

Your Poppy Plates are really pretty. I like how you arranged the table with the cordinating colors. The plates are so georgious; the design looks as if it came from an antique floral print. Plus, your little birds make your table seem like part of an enchanted garden!
