Green Is Good

Hello Everyone!
Have you ever noticed that you tend to buy a
particular color over and over or is that just me?
Check out my latest green obsession.
See it! It's the little green clock I found at Marshalls.
It was on clearance for $8 and I had to have it for the mantel.
Green is found everywhere around our mantel.
A sage green swivel chair makes a cozy reading nook.
Green accessories for the coffee table.
A green Home sign from Kirklands.
A close up of my favorite new green clock.
I'm a sucker for miniature items.
Sage green vases tied with more green.
My plump green bird from Cracker Barrel.
The entire view of the mantel.
What are your color inspirations?
Have a fantastic week!

Melissa~ Your green decorating is so classy and beautiful! I absolutely love pink. I always have! I am decorating the new little house kitchen around my pink kitchen aid mixer! I have never had a home that was "me". I am so excited to decorate, that is ME. I plan on alot of pinks and greens and white. A cottage feel.
I am putting photo's on the little hous blog today! V has to show me howto do it. That blog will have pic's!
Thank you so much for your comment on the new blog!!!!
Have a pretty day!

Your new green items look lovely Melissa! I just LOVE your home. I'm also a sucker for greens, reds, and golds, although now I have been getting out of my comfort using whites, blues and other soft neutrals. I love many kinds of looks. Country, Shabby Chic, Rustic,Traditional, Transitional...I like it all. :)

Your house is SO beautiful! I also am drawn to the color green. I love red, too. I always seem to have a red wall somewhere in my house!

I think your green looks great! I tend to buy a lot of reds & browns. I LOVE brown. I never thought I'd say that but I really really do.

Hi Melissa, I love your post and pretty vintage clock . I have been "enamored" with green for a long time,it is so versatile. For my wedding I picked tea length teal green classic dresses for the bridesmaids. Your candlesticks on your coffee table are also very pretty. I showed my children your little mocking bird and he has such personality! Thanks for continuing to post your ideas. Take care in this nonstop heat wave. Emelia.

It looks very nice and soothing! You have such a talent at accessorizing! I buy too many items with red in them. I love red and black so I try to settle down and think before I purchase now!!

Melissa, you know green is throughout my home. I love it. That clock is great. I have a weakness for clocks, too. Your mantel looks great just like the rest of your home.

I love the green things you got, especially the clock. I am sort of a clock-a-holic! The mantel is gorgeous, as usual! Linda

Your decorating is so beautiful, Melissa. My husband and I only started our household about 8-9 months ago, so we don't have much decor yet. But our rugs and furniture (and the few pieces of decor that I do have!) are all earthy tones. We love shades of green, tan, brown, maroon, etc. So, of course, I love your green pieces!

Ceekay- Thinkin of Home said...

I am drawn to black....I just love it...in fact, even in clothes...I have to make myself buy different colors...but I always think the black looks richer.
Your green is very nice...green is one color I don't have a lot of...my hubs does not care for it!

dogsmom said...

I end to bring in deep blues or autumn jewel tones. I like oranges and browns, but can not say there is a shortage of any color around my house.
When I specificly looked gor green I came up shy, but once I stoppped looking...now I find it everywhere in the house.

Love the green. I have been slowly trying to find green accents for my living room. It takes me a while because I am cheap and picky. Not the best combo for getting things done quickly. Love the clock.

I love green anything! It is one of my "go to" colors, also. I tend toward rich, earthy colors anyway: deep red, chocolate brown, amber and antique gold, various shades of sage green....and ceeam and black, of course!

I'm amazed at the bargains you find that are awesome. Love that clock! Green is a great color and seems to be very popular right now. My husband loves blue and I love peach so in our last home, those were our accent colors against warm beiges. It was very pretty.

I love your new clock! What a steal! I recently saw an antique clock face that was very similar to your sweet find. Of course it was way too expensive. Glad you found this beautiful piece.:)

Hi Melissa,

Your green looks lovely. I have the same obsession with burgundy or deep wine colors. Any item that color pulls me in like a mangnet. I just wish my home was as clean as your's is, especially with pets. I have two fur babies, Jasmine and Josie, and sometimes I think they're worse than toddlers when it comes to making a mess.

Have a beautiful day!!

Hi Melissa, I was just doing some things around the house and realized I bought on Sunday afternoon dark green-olive silk like fabric place mats. They are very pretty with different sets of dishes. They are 2.99 each and are a traditional size and have tailored mitered corners. They also come in a rich brick red. I was thinking of your green post when I was laundering them!I though you and your readers might be interested. Thanks and keep cool ~Emelia~

That clock is adorable! The mantel looks very nice and yes, a sage green is one of my favorite colors. I honestly don't have much of it in my house (apt) at the moment. I normally lean toward red, black, gold & silver with some animal prints. I am having a really difficult time with my bedroom right now...just can't seem to "make it work". You should live closer! :-)

Have a wonderful rest of the week ~

I find that I too choose the color green for my home. It's serene, classy, and neutral enough that any color accents it well.
You have such a beautiful style. Love to see your decorations.

Hi Melissa.... What good taste you have. Your mantel is a showpiece ! I really love the green accents and the clock, well it's just perfect.
You did such a good job. Remember the post you wrote about cleaning supplies ? Every time I go to your site now I wonder what did Melissa use there to make if shine, etc. That, also was an excellent post.

I am going away tomorrow for a while as my daughter is coming up and we will be down in the
Catskill Mountain region where the boys are playing ball for the week. Supposed to be a charming village there with all sorts of little shops, etc. and right at the top of a Lake !

I can do shopping well.
Take care, my friend............
