Animal Attraction

Hello Everyone!
Thank you for the kind words about my anti hoarding.
That was a fun one! If you missed it check it out.
Over the years I have slowly added animal elements
throughout our home. They are timeless and add
a touch of class to any room. Join me for a tour.
I bought a table at Kirklands to hold this red crocodile lamp.
Animal print decor' items are easy to find anywhere.
The table is marked down to $39 and the lamp $16.
We will be having our new furniture delivered on Thursday.
I can't wait to show you the completed room!
*All photos enlarge when clicked.*
A leopard print frame displays our king of the jungle.
Here is Chestnut in his favorite nap spot.
Even though it's the 2nd floor he watches the birds.
Aw, I woke him from his nap. He's a bit dazed.
A leopard pillow and blanket are added to the guest bed.
A red leopard lamp from Kirklands is displayed on a table.
A leopard print tote holds an extra blanket.
An *M* frame has touches of leopard ribbon.
Visit Kristen and her Etsy shop to buy the handmade items.
I added a leopard runner from Kirklands to the foyer table.
The tassel frame also has leopard print ribbon.
Feather wreaths are very popular!
Home decor' has gone to the birds as well.
I bought this one at Michaels.
A feather napkin ring from Pier 1 works as an accent.
Another pearl napkin ring is on a reed diffuser.
Zebras have arrived on hand towels.
And on a tiny pillow in the master bathroom.
Zebra ribbon works well on this frame as well as the red croco.
Animal accents fit in with any decor style. I just love it!
~*~
Stay tuned for my new blog design coming soon!
Have a wonderful week!

Your animal decor additions are wonderful! I have a few things scattered here and about too. I just added two really cool new animal pillows to the den, a few weeks ago. I love your cat in the cheetah frame and your beautiful frame made by Kristin. So pretty!

Melissa you have such an eye for design!! I constantly inspired by you. I think every room needs some touch of animal print! If I had it my way it would more than just a touch!! haha! I love the table that you have the red leopard lamp on. I have been looking for one that size and width for a long time. Was that a Kirkland's find? I am in love with that store!! Anyway, everything is beautiful (as usual) and I love seeing your kitty. He looks just like my Charlie and it looks like they have the same attitude as well!!
Take care,
April

Melissa, your animal prints are so nicely done. I especially like that red leopard lamp from Kirkland's in your guest room! My favorite lamp is leopard print on the underside of the shade. I also found it at Kirkland's a few years ago..(before they closed their doors here. =o( I spotted the same lamp in a high end store for a lot more money than I paid for it at Kirklands! Love your home. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Barb.. I saw feather wreaths at JoAnn Fabircs on clearance.

Okay, I can't believe you found room for another table!! I remember your post about all your tables last year! Love it all.

I love leopard! Is there anything it doesn't look good with? A few years ago visiting my best friend we went to a boutique where they had the most gorgeous leopard pillow accented with red...I though it was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen. I hope touches of leopard never go out of style.

I never thought of using animal print like you did. It looks wild and elegent at the same time. I kind have been afraid to add animal prints to my decor but after seeing your post I might try adding some wildness to my life. Chestnut looks like he rules the room when he's looking out at the birds.
