Staying On Track

Hello Everyone!
I believe most us made a healthy resolution for 2011.
Are you on track with your goals? I hope you are!
Join me and I'll give you an update on mine
and a delicious and healthy dinner recipe too.
Here are the ingredients for turkey meatloaf.
1 pound ground turkey, bread crumbs, 1 can tomato sauce
1/2 small chopped onion, 1 egg, garlic powder, S/P.
Add your ingredients to a bowl.
Add about half the can of tomato sauce and save the rest to top it.
Mix the turkey, sauce, egg, S/P, garlic powder, onion and crumbs.
No need to measure the bread crumbs just keep adding until
you have a firm loaf for the pan. You'll know when it's ready.
I did not measure the S/P or the garlic powder. It's just to taste.
Form a loaf and top with the remaining tomato sace.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
I made baby peas with a pat of butter for a side.
Here is the finished dinner with a baked potato.
A delicious and satisfying meal. I hope you try it.

We've been loading up on healthy foods at the grocery.
I had gained a few pounds during the holidays but they
are now gone after I adjusted my habits back to healthy.
I'm sitting at exactly 48 pounds down from my start weight.
I'm going to try as hard as I can to lose this final 10 pounds.

Do you eat these super foods on a regular basis?
They are all very healthy choices and delicious.
I never enjoyed apples or blueberries before.
After reading the benefits I'm hooked for life.
I have been wanting to try making *green smoothies*.
Do any of you drink them? How do they taste?
Exercise has been the one thing that I just have not
had my groove going on lately. The cold weather...
Blah, blah, blah no more excuses.
I'm power walking and bowflexing regularly again.
What is your exercise routine?
Just reading this list really motivates me.
Less stress and sleeping better sounds great to me!

Well, I'm planning on going back to WW this coming week. I'm dreading getting on that scale but my friend that works there said no one will know what it says (thank goodness!). Thanks for the meatloaf recipe, we love stuff like that looks like a great meal to serve.

Hey, I have some dishes like yours! Might have to dig them out and start using them again.

I so agree...I use turkey many times in place of beef, I like both though. I think when one does all these things you have mentioned, it's ok to have a few treats along the way too..all in moderation. :D

I am doing Weight Watchers and have lost 12 pounds in four weeks. I am buying better in the stores and making such better choices for my food.!

The never ending saga of health and weight loss is alive and well at my house;)! I start a new pilates class tomorrow and am hoping to see some success. I have been told it is good one and am really looking forward to it!

I'm doing great too. As a matter of fact, my post tonight is about my exercising on the treadmill. WE can do it!

I'm making meatloaf tomorrow night. It's a favorite of ours too.

I'm so glad you are back down to your pre~holiday weight, Melissa. You worked so hard to get there and I appreciate all of the advice you gave. Your recipe looks delicious and I will definitely try it!

I just joined Weight Watchers and I am so glad that I am getting some guidance and being held accountable for what I eat each day! I have my fingers crossed! I just did a post about it today.

I do a turkey chili recipe that is good too. At first my family said it tastes "funny". Now they love it compared to hamberger because if I do it the old way, they complain about the grease! lol

Thank you for giving us this recipe. Boy I needed a new one.
I lost so far ten pounds as a small start. Only half a person more to go. I can't wait until it gets warmer in Georgia so I can start really walking the pounds off. I'll keep you posted.
Oh, what did you do with your old sofa? I need to redo mine; Kitty has been so naughty on both my sofa and loveseat.

Hi Melissa, loved your post and I'm happy to report I'm still on track too. Lost 5lb since Christmas and am starting to exercise a little each day, although not every day but I hope to increase that and do most days during the week. I am trying to give a weekly update on my blog each Monday so just getting ready to do my post. I have started journaling in my healthy blog too, my sister is also on ww so it's very motivating for her.
Hope you've had a good weekend, have you been lounging on your pretty new sofas? ;-)

Yeah for you taking off those holiday pounds! It is so easy to put on and I know how hard you have worked to get them off! I lost 2 more pounds this week so I am doing well! I did not gain any over the holidays, but I didn't lose any either! I have to kick start my exercise program now! I can do it! You are such an inspiration!

I'm so happy for you. You are someone that sets goals and works hard to obtain them. I, unfortunately, haven't done the same in the weight department. Thank you for this post, it's exactly what I needed. You motivated me a bunch last year and I took 35 pounds off. I've put on 6-8 pounds since then. Sniff, sniff. I keep making excuses for myself, but it is time. Spring and summer is just around the corner...time to get fit. I hope you keep these posts coming, because I not only find them inspiring but extremely helpful.

You're almost there, so keep up the good work...great progress, Melissa! =)

My husband loves meatloaf and this sounds like a great recipe. I already use ground turkey to replace almost ALL of my ground beef.
I've done pretty good with my excercise routine this year. I'm determined to keep it up! You're an inspiration!

Wow Melissa you are doing so well staying focused! I am so undisciplined when it comes to my eating habits. I sortof have the opposite problem where I just don't think about eating but then when I get hungry eat wrongly for the 1 meal I will eat. Am asking for the Lord's help in this direction

Melissa may I first say "THANK YOU" for posting a recipe that I could actually eat and feel good about! There are so many delicious looking recipes all over blogaritaville but 9 outta 10 they're super high in fat and calories. I LOVE seeing a recipe that looks delicious AND healthy!!
And I do feel inspired to get my bum up and moving. That exercise thing can be a bear can't it?! I start and stop and start and stop *sighs* I need to last for three weeks so it can become a habbit kwim. I even have a home gym so I have no excuses. Thanks also for the wake up call. I know you're going to reach your goal! Vanna

FOrgot to say I tried a green smoothie last year but to be honest I prefer to eat all the fruit and veg that were in it without blending them. I like a spinach salad better than it being in a smoothie!

Melissa, congrats on getting those few holiday pounds off again. You are so motivated.. and it is contageous! Thank you, for sharing the turkey meatloaf recipe. I use turkey in a lot of things instead of ground beef but I haven't tried a turkey meatloaf before. I will give it a try.

Congratulations Melissa! 48 lbs. is soooo awesome! I can't imagine. I've been doing awesome cutting back on the Dr. Pepper which in turn I've noticed that I'm not as hungry & I just did a post about my new plan. We'll see how it goes. Congrats again & good luck on the last 10!

Great job! I grocery shopped on Sunday and bought lots of veggies to prepare this week while we're "grounded" with this weather. I figure filling up on those & fruit should help avoid the tendency to just eat whatever. It's just miserably cold here so have to think of spring ~ :-)

Great Post Melissa! I think I will try that recipe this weekend. I have been healthier this year and it's truly begining to show in how my clothes fit. I can't wait to go shopping for summer clothes.
