A Hair Affair

Hello Everyone!
I'm trying to decide on getting my hair cut or *not*
and I'm asking for your opinions. It's been almost eight
months since my last cut and it was a big change then.
Take a look and see how much it has grown.
What do I do?
Here I am getting ready for errands yesterday.
It has grown out quite a bit since last June.
The blue flower cardigan is from Target, the
jewelry Cato and the crystal watch is QVC.
*All photos enlarge when clicked.*
I encourage all of you to have your own photo session
in a mirror. You can't help but laugh at yourself...:0!
Here is my new shortened bob haircut last June.
Getting 10 inches cut off was a huge deal for me.
Should I go back to this length or keep letting it grow?
I'm stumped since I do like it with both styles.
I use either Dove or Pantene shampoos. Love them!
The new style was fun and cooler for the summer.
I use Paul Mitchell's Smoothing Serum.
It smells fresh and really gives thickness and body.

By September of 10' it was starting to grow out already.

I'm wearing my CK gray cords from Sams Club.
I'm not too picky where I buy my clothes.
It's fun to shop again after my weight loss.

One more view of my hair length.
Hilarious photo. Ha! What was I thinking?
I appreciate all of my blog friends opinions.
I plan to get it cut or a trim in the next few
weeks if you think I should so let me know.
~*~
Have a wonderful week!

Be-caaauuuuse I cannot grow, ever could, never could, grow my hair long. Not to mention how healthy yours looks, I vote to leave it as is :D However, if you do choose to cut, I like the shoulder version.

Lori said...

Oh my goodness, your hair is gorgeous! As I was reading I was thinking no way, don't cut but then I saw your shorter bob and thought, wow, HOW GORGEOUS!! Love, love, love the shorter bob, it's still has great length, but seems to have more movement and style, so yes, to the cut!! Either way you're gorgeous and I applaud you for the self-portraits, you did well! :)

Lori said...

ps Is there a post about your weight loss, would love to read it! You look great!

Melissa said...

I say go for the shortened bob cut again....it's lovely!

Many Blessings,

Oh - that is hard. It looks great both ways! Sometimes I go a little shorter in Summer - right now, my hair is just past my shoulders. You are such a sweetie - you can pull it off beautifully either way. I also shop for my clothes at random places - alot of my fun jewelry comes from Cato - and, clothes from wherever I see something cute - I am not picky either!

Lori said...

Oops, just found it on the right, sorry for all the comments. :)

You have beautiful hair--and the length is versatile...long, pulled back, pinned up..if you cut it go back to the bob--very cute...

Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions said...

I love both lengths, Melissa. They both look like they are easy to take care of. I just got a trim tonight myself - just the cruddy stuff off the bottom and my bangs trimmed {I went the long bang route in August}.

claudia b said...

I love the bob, very flattering!! But you're beautiful either way.

Angela said...

I like it both ways. You look great either way!

Melissa F said...

You look so pretty either way, but I can't help feeling that I love the bob. I wish I could carry it off as well as you do, you really have the bone structure for it!

Courtney ~ French Country Cottage said...

You look fabulous either way! The bob is super cute on you- I do like it a lot but the longer length might be a bit more versatile for pulling back if you like to wear your hair that way. I think either way- you'll look great! :)

Samantha said...

I love both lengths on you! Only because I'm more of a fan of shorter hair, I say go for the bob again sometime soon! It will look so cute on you for the spring/summer!

Kim @ Savvy Southern Style said...

Melissa, it looks good either way, but I did love the new short do which is still long to me since mine is really short. It is healthier for your hair to get it trimmed every six to eight weeks.

Becolorful said...

lucky you. you have beautiful hair and look great shorter or longer but if I had to pick I think I like it best shorter.

Hi Melissa, I love the shorter look on you. Very stylish and sophisticated! I vote "cut it"..as you know it grows back fast. :)
Cute photos.

I also like your hair both ways. But since you mentioned that shorter was more fun, I'd go for that. I always feel sassy after a new cut! Which it is time for again, I've been wanting to get mine done but I need a weekend for it. Maybe this weekend :)
Good luck with your decision

Melissa, You have beautiful hair. Both lengths look great but I am a longer hair kinda gal. My hair is so neglected right now I am ashamed to say I have not had it touched by a professional since June! My ends are split and look horrific! I say go with the easiest style for you to deal with. You will look fab either way!

Allyson Pecilunas said...

Coming from a Hairstylist (me) :) You have gorgeous hair. I would leave it the length it is and just add some layers or something to give it a different look. Or maybe a side bang or something. Either way you decide it will look FAB can't wait to see it. WAHOO 200 posts thats awesome!

Allyson Pecilunas said...

P.S. Too bad you don't live closer I could do your hair!!

Paperlicious Girl said...

Your hair is gorgeous now, but I really love that cute bob cut! I say go for it =)

Linda (More Fun Less Laundry) said...

Wow Melissa, your hair is gorgeous! It looks great either way. Even the "short" version is quite long--mine is really short and I do love it. I think I vote for the short version, but really I like it both ways. Linda

Blondie's Journal said...

I would leave it at this length...you can do so many things with it and it's very up to date. No matter what you choose. you have beautiful hair!

XO,

Pam said...

Wow, I like it both ways. I do think longer looks younger and flirtier. And I think it's great that you posted a photo of your backside. You really do look great! Congrats again on the amazing weight loss.

Denise said...

Well from one who is trying to keep her hair long (and grow out the bangs yet again) I'd say just trim it. Your hair looks gorgeous long. then again, I loved your last cut too, the shoulder length really suited you. I'm torn!!!!

Gypsy Heart said...

Cut it! Would be a nice pick-me-up to welcome spring. It looks more bouncy shorter.

Great pics too! You are brave ~

Hello you fabulous lady you! :-) You look so beautiful in all of those pics and I totally understand the "should I cut it or not" dilemma. I'm always going back and forth but I really like your hair longer! Maybe that is because I'm wanting to grow mine out more! LOL!

Oh girl your so pretty...I love it both ways..why not let it grow until summer time again..that's what I would do..at least you have a thick head of hair, mine is gotten so thim with my age now ha ha!!
Sorry I haven't been around honey..been baby sitting Landen for a few days as he been sick with his teeth and day care worker don't much care for him right now ha ha!! I can't always get that little guy to calm down..he just thinks I'm too funny...Hugs and smiles Gloria

We share very similar hair styles and I know what you mean. It's hard to decide to give up the longer style but the shorter feels so much lighter and easier to maintain right? Sorry, I'm no help as I'm way overdue on a haircut myself. I do think you look beautiful though! Love your cords too!

lvroftiques said...

Melissa your hair looks great period! But the bob at shoulder length looked like a hair commercial!! Seriously I had hair envy! *winks* I always wanted long hair, but now that I'm older it's just way to thin to look good.....sooo... while you're still a baybay you might want to get that outta your system lol! Teresa @ Grammy Girlfriend said...

I say cut....I love it from your cut last summer....just my humble opinion....you have beautiful hair

Donna Lynn said...

Melissa, you are great at taking photos in your mirror, I did it only one time and the results were hilarious!!!

I personally love long hair on women, it truly does set us apart from men, also our pheromones are released in our hair, more hair therefore = more man pleasing scents! :)

Your gorgeous and would look good even bald, but girl, your hair is amazing wear it with pride!!

Liz said...

Hello BEAUTIFUL!! Melissa, I am so proud of you, you look AMAZING!! You're a tiny little thing - JEALOUS!! Honestly, you have gorgeous hair, so either way you look fabulous. I do LOVE the shorter look a lot and with spring and summer around the corner it might be fun to go with a shorter edgy long bob look. You wear it well. Can’t wait to see what you decide on. XOXO ~Liz

Tara G. said...

Oh, I am loving that blue on you! Um, yes on the hair. Was that helpful!? If I had to choose, the short. Hugs to you, friend!

Paula said...

I like the shorter cut because it frames your face. You really do have pretty hair!

Rosie said...

Melissa, you've got gorgeous hair. Either style looks great, but the bob seems to show off your face really well.

I'm torn because I think you look gorgeous either way..... but I love your cute back in June! You are so lucky to be able to have the flexiblity with your hair! I really want long(er) hair but my face starts to look drawn out and my fine hair looks limp.

AngelaV said...

The shortened bob haircut from last June is my favorite.

Stacey said...

Hello Gorgeous! It's beautiful both ways. Maybe keep it longer for winter and shorter in the spring and summer? Truly, it's your pretty face that shines through.

Melissa, You are so pretty either way you wear your hair.I love the first bob.I love the first bob but I have a short layered razor cut hair.....I have thick hair and it takes a lot to blow dry!I am on FB if you want to"friend" me and see a picture! Thanks Melissa for continuing to post !I love your beautiful manicure.....would you share the name of your polish?

Becca said...

First, let me say that you're gorgeous with your hair at any length and style! HowEVER, since you asked ... personally, I love it shorter (like the pic when you had 10? inchess cut off). With your weight loss, shorter hair highlights your accomplishment and is fun and edgy. And, you can still put it up, too. *Becca*

Melissa Miller said...

Emelia the nail polish is called *Vodka and Caviar* by OPI. I know they have the funiest names for polish. I don't drink or eat either one. :)

Either way looks great so I would do whatever is easiest to take care of and dry quicker. Love the blue cardigan on you.

Hugs,

Hi Melissa, you are so sweet to answer me back so fast! Thanks for the nail color. Since i was in nursing school, long ago…lol…I can't seem to grow pretty nails. My hair grows like a weed though!I used Sally Hansen Diamond Strenght nail colors and they seem to stay on pretty well…..i am always cleaning and washing my hands so that isn't great for nails!I don't drink or eat fish (allergic) too.My color I just used is Elegant Cognac….i guess these companies are into expensive liquers! Thanks again and can't wait to see your choice!:).

Hi Melissa, I like your hair both ways! You look great with long or shorter hair. It looks so healthy too! I am letting mine grow out for a while. I was supposed to get it colored/highlighted today, but we have another snow day here. We got 7 inches! About an hour away they got over 20! Unreal! Anyways, I don't know what to tell you about your hair...it looks very pretty both ways. What kind of shampoo do you use? Mine is so dry right now due to this weather. Have a great day! Kristen

You are beautiful, but I think the shorter bob style frames your face and highlights your beauty vs. the longer length. You are so lucky to have such, thick beautiful hair!

Love the shorter look. Def looks great on you.

Sandy Cooper said...

The short bob is adorable. Your hair grows fast. If I were you, I would actually go even SHORTER. Go to a bob to the jaw.

I would then grow it back out and do it all over again.

That's what I did, and I loved doing it. Loved all the lengths. Loved always having new hair. Now I'm loving growing it out again.

Cut it shorter.

And you are so cute.

Hi Melissa!
You have gorgeous, thick hair. I love the shorter look; bouncy, healthy looking. Have you ever thought of layering the top a bit to give you some layers aroung your face? Not bangs, just soft shorter layers...I bet it would look great.

LC said...

Hi Melissa. Well, you are just adorable with it short or long. Lucky you! Since you are asking for opinions, I personally like it shorter. You have a pretty face and it frames it nicely. It is still just as lovely long.. so really either way you are a lucky gal! =o)

Your hair is gorgeous either way. You look beautiful. I think it's always good to have a little change now and then and it's good for our hair. So, I think you should get the shorter cut. Hair grows so quickly during the summer that it will be long again in no time. Either way your hair looks gorgeous!

Melissa, WOW, you continue to be my inspiration! I used to have hair like yours when I wasn't over 35 years old. That was when I went to a shorter bob for my career when I returned to work after staying home. You've got the beautiful hair, so don't cut it off while you have it! When you're older, you have plenty of time to have shorter hair. Enjoy it, your hair is gorgeous! Look at how thin you have gotten! I'm still 20 pounds down and have a hit a plateau, but strive to continue! Hugs! Thanks for sharing this lovely post this week about a very lovely lady!
