Let The Light In

Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend. The weather was gorgeous here.
I thought I would share with you my love of lighting. Lamps, sconces
night lights, chandeliers you name it I love it all. I feel it makes our homes
warm, welcoming and cheerful. Join me for a tour of decorative lamps.
*All the photos enlarge when clicked.*
This is a recent addition to the kitchen I bought at Lowes.
Add them all around your kitchen counters. They glow at night.
A red drum shade with drop beads for the guest room.
A silver hammered style works well on my desk.
A mini lamp next to the stairs in the family room.
Add a tassel to decorate with. Make them unique!
I always love the balanced look of a pair of lamps.
This set lights the way to a welcoming entryway.
Another pair of lamps decorate the buffet in the dining room.
I like to see the unexpected. Use a mini lamp on top of the fridge.
It also highlights any home decor' you may have around the area.
Another unexpected twist is adding a lamp to a bathroom counter.
I hope you enjoyed the tour. Thanks for coming by!

Finally, I think my posting problem may be solved for good.
Thank you to those of you who told me to try the updated editor.
So far...so good. Fingers crossed. I'm enjoying the preview feature.
If you haven't tried it yet go to your dashboard and add it. It's better.
Right click on your photos to make them any size. Another great feature.

Have a wonderful week!

Melissa, I love lamps. It can be a problem. When I see a new one I want then it usually means another has to move out. Lowes has some nice ones.

I love small lamps too. Nice lighting when you don't want overheads on. Dropping by from BNOTP.

You've got such great lampshades, Melissa! I love the one on your desk - the lamp and the shade! I put a small lamp on my kitchen counter a couple of years ago, which I had wanted to do for a long time, and finally just did it after seeing the look on other blogs. I love that little lamp. Every time I go to Home Goods I always check out the lamps {although, I don't really need any!}.

I'm a little "lamp crazy". A few months ago, I made a mental list of all the places I need to put a lamp in this house...and got up to around 12 (not counting the 20 or so I already have! But I love lamp light instead of overhead...gives rooms such warmth!

Hello Melissa! Wonderful lamp collections. I love the third and fifth lamps. They are so simple, minimal and yet so elegant.

Beautiful lamps, Melissa! Your home is obviously filled with ambiance at night when you turn them on. Love your tassel accents on them, too ... and your placement of them in "unexpected" spots. One can never have too much lighting !! Hope you had a wonderful Easter, friend. Hugs, Becca

They just add so much ambience (sp?) don't they? My hubby jokes that I am like a hermit because I love to be in the kitchen with the main lights off but my lamps on!
:-) He doesn't realize it is because the lamps don't show all the dirt and grime like my overhead lights do! LOL!

I love lamps too Melissa! In fact, I just bought a new one this weekend and posted a pic of it. I don't have a lot of space here but I try to have them in all types of spaces...bathrooms included.

I didn't know you did not have the "preview" feature...it's great. Hope that all the glitches are fixed now...it's so frustrating isn't it?

Hope you have a great week!

Melissa, your lamps look beautiful! In my home, I love to use lamps partly because you can't see the dust and dirt as much by lamplight. That's not a problem in your house, though--I always admire how beautifully clean you keep your home. I am inspired by you!

Hope you had a wonderful Easter. :)

There have been record breaking tornadoes this year! We had one hit RIGHT where we live about 12 years ago. There were no houses in this area, but if there were I bet they would have been pretty much flattened. I remember talking to my mother in law on the phone at the time. She lived about a mile from here. I could hear the roaring in the background! I thought for sure it was going to hit her house but it missed it by a mile! It was unreal...This town was so torn up. Sometimes I think...why did we move into a house that is right where a tornado hit? Hmmm...Just hoping there is not a repeat.

Yes, that hail was large, but we had bigger about three years ago. It was the size of baseballs! We got a new roof...luckly our cars were in the garage. The cars that were hit looked like someone took a bat to them!

It's supposed to be sunny here the next few days until more storms come in. I better enjoy it while I can...lol. Kristen
