Hello Everyone!
It's hard for me to believe but it has been two years since I began my weight loss journey.
I started on 9/09/09 and I am thrilled to report that I am down 4 more pounds.
That is a total of 52 pounds lost since the beginning. I am grateful that it did not turn
into a wasted effort and I let myself gain it back. I did NOT want that to happen!
Suprisingly it has not been a stuggle to keep it off.
I'm not doing anything different than I already have done.
I think the habits I created for myself from the start have stuck with me.
To read how I lost the weight click the top of my header under "My Weight Loss".
I would enjoy having you join me on this healthy journey. Many of you already have.
Email me and let me know if you have questions. I understand the process.
Eating healthy is the key to it all. One of my biggest tips is not eating at night.
My cut off time is 6 pm and I have stuck to this faithfully. I enjoy a big breakfast.
Unfortunately exercise has fallen by the wayside for me lately. Oops.
I plan to get back to power walking and weightlifting.
I still weigh every-single-day and keep a journal.
It really works for me to know the actual number. I'm a detail person.
I still have these big ole' pants and try them on to remind me.
In June of 10' I cut my hair to go along with my new weight loss.
By September of 10' I was celebrating one year of success!
By February of 11' I was trying to decide on another haircut. Or not?
Thanks for the advice you gave me.
By March of 11' I decided to cut it once again for the summer.
It has since grown back. Alot. I haven't taken any pictures lately. I will soon.
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement the past 2 years.
I hope you are all healthy and have made your goals as well.
Here we are at the start of another season. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year.
I'm looking forward to many exciting changes with our upcoming move to Maryland.
I will keep you posted on our house hunt and selling this one when the time comes.
In the meantime I plan to get back to decorating our current home. I really miss it.
Have a wonderful week!

And you look fabulous. I fell off the wagon, but am trying to get back on. Bought all healthy stuff today. So glad we have cooler weather. Must get back to walking regularly.

Congrats on your weight loss victory...unfortunately I can't say I've been as fortunate, but I'm trying so I guess that's better than nothing.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I so admire you. I need to lose more, I have about 20lbs to go. Do you have any tips to share? I'd love to hear them. Well done, you look amazing , Sally xxx

You look beautiful my sweet daughter..Congrats on keeping it off and being healthy..Love ya, Hugs and smiles Gloria
Hello gorgeous! You have done so well with your weight loss. It's so neat that you encourage others to be healthy. I did Weight Watchers years ago and lost 20 pounds. It hasn't been hard to keep it off but lately 4 or 5 pounds have crept back on. Time to watch my moves. It's just so much better in a zillion ways to be at a healthy weight.
I'd be thrilled if I were you, you look great!!!...Congrats!!!!
Congratulations, girl!! I am so happy for you that you have stuck with it! You look fabulous! I cannot wait to see some decorating posts from you, I am always inspired :)
Congratulations! You look beautiful. :)
WOW what a fun journey it has been Melissa. You look gorgeous! Kudos for keeping it off, and sticking with it.
Hi, Melissa:
Congratulations on keeping off your weight. I know it's tough but certainly doable with the right mindset. I am down 46 pounds doing Weight Watchers. My husband and I walk 20 miles a week, and like you, all my health numbers are down.
You have been a great encouragement and I have to tell you that I never heard of CATO until you posted your clothing and jewelry pictures. Now it is one of my favorite pleaces. I Googled it and was pleasantly surprised to find we have one not too far from where we live.
Blessings and keep up the good work!
Fondly,
Cheri
Melissa, you are SUCH an inspiration! GREAT job! You look fabulous!!!
Pam
It's great that you are keeping the weight off! I gained around 4 lbs this summer...I've got to get it off! My clothes are tighter and I find myself liking the looser fitting shirts. Uh oh!
I hope you will take some pics of yourself soon. I bet your hair is really pretty! Kristen
You look so beautiful! I love the difference you see in your attitude in each picture! I am so proud of you. It takes a lot of work and commitment to losing the weight and keeping it off. I leaped off the bandwagon and have gained almost 8 pounds this summer! I have to get back into being healthy. My goal is to train for a half marathon! You are such an inspiration!!
You look fantastic. What a difference.
I'm down 20 pounds and have 22 more to go to hit my goal weight. Due to medication issues and then, oh, yeah I got pregnant (though I only gained 14 pounds), I was up 40 pounds from what I weighed just 3 years ago (and a size 4/6). NOT COOL!
Melissa - Congratulations on your achievement! Keeping up healthy habits is the hard part and you've certainly succeeded at that!
So proud of you!! :) I am confident you've encouraged many ladies!
WOW! What a great weight loss Melissa! You go girl!! I'm going to check out your site for the weight loss. You look maaavelous daaaling!!
Hugs, Sherry
Awesome! You look wonderful. This is so encouraging. Starting my exercise program today. Thanks for the motivation!
Thank you Melissa! I have been aprehensive about posting the pics of the painting. I just don't know if I like it or not! It definitely looks better from a distance! lol...I would really like to take more lessons so I could get better at the details. I'll post more pics of it when I show the rest of the room. I reworked the living room last night and am almost done. I'm going to work on a dining room table arrangement today.
You are such an inspiration, especially in keeping the weight off. Exercise is the key. If I do nothing else, I always try to walk for 30 minutes every day.
Take care and keep up the good work!!
Donna
Congratulations Melissa. You look absolutely darling and gorgeous at the same time. Kathi
Melissa, you look fabulous!! It is so inspiring to hear that you have been successful and even more so about keeping it off! I am in the losing process right now and am almost white knuckled at the prospect of gaining it back! It just seems to creep back. I'm holding on for your inspiring leadership!! blessings ~ tanna
You are my inspiration Melissa! You look amazing!
You look great Melissa!! Hearing 50+lbs. is a lot but seeing you in those pants really shows just how much it is. I'm down 25 with 5 to go. The last 5 are taking awhile but I know I'm going to get there. Aside from my hardcore Yogalates workout 3 times a week (most weeks anyway), I've started the C25K program so I'm running 3 times a week as well. Thanks for doing this post. I still need motivation & the food pyramid is a great easy way to remember what I need to be eating!
Congratulations! What an accomplishment! I look forward to following you.
Debbie
Congratulations, Melissa. You look wonderful. I bet you feel much healthier, too. Good for you keeping the weight off and sticking to it. Congrats~
Congrats on two years, you look great and even more important, you look like you feel great!!
Love that you kept an old pair of pants ~ great motivator and reminder!! :)
Melissa, you are sooo pretty! I can't imagine having lost that much weight. You've come so far. My biggest downfall is I need to get back to exercising. I used to be religious about it, but ever since having my kids and my daily routine changed it has been put on the back burner. You are truly an inspiration to so many.
Wow! That is a wonderful accomplishment. You look great! I walk about 3 miles four days a week because I want to be healthy for my kids and family. I remind myself, it is more than just how I "look"...it's about how I feel!! You look fabulous and I am sure you feel fabulous:) Good for you! ~Kim
Melissa, It takes real courage to maintain something like this for two years. Kudos to you!
Thanks for stopping over...that was so sweet of you. :-)

I loved reading your update. What an inspiration and an accomplishment. Good job with the 6 pm cut off. That's really difficult to do when I am feeding my family dinner at 6:30. But I think that may be something I need to strive for.
Good for you!!
Sandy
