Hello Friends!
I hope your weekend went well and you are staying nice and warm.
Most of the east coast had an unexpected winter blast. Brrr....
It made us want to stay in and cook and eat.
Join me for the recipes,
Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup and Pumpkin Swirl Brownies.
Here are the simple soup ingredients. Thanks to my sister Michele for sending me this one.
2 cups of tender cooked chicken breast
2 cans of Cream of Chicken soup
4 cups of water
1 pint of half and half
broad egg noodles
2 tsp of salt
Mix all the ingredients except the egg noodles in a large pot.
Bring to a boil and then add noodles. (the amount depends on how thick you like your soup)
Stir frequently until noodles are done. (about 10-12 minutes)
It's rich and very creamy. It's yummy on a cold evening.
I could see adding carrots and celery or even mushrooms would be good.
S/P to taste. Serve with crackers. Enjoy!
Here are the ingredients for the Pumpkin Swirl Brownies by Martha Stewart.
What could taste better at this time of year? If you like pumpkin anything you will love them!
You could omit the cayenne pepper if you would like and they would still be spicy.
Click here to go to Martha's site and find the entire step by step recipe.
Thanks to my new friend Carla for posting the recipe on her blog and giving me the idea.
We measured the chocolate.
Melting the chocolate and butter.
Mixing the eggs, sugar and vanilla.
Here are the finished brownies on Martha's site.
They came out delicious and super moist. Yum!
I could not get the lighting right to take a photo of ours.
I still have so much to learn about my Canon camera...:)

If I hadn't just got done making tomato soup and grilled cheese for a late lunch, I would try that chicken soup recipe right now. Looks yummy!
Melissa,
this looks so yummy! I would love to have you guest post on my blog in November!
Hugs,
Mary
Yummy! Both look delicious! Thanks for sharing Melissa.
Have a great day.
Pam
Both recipes look fantastic. The soup is one similar to the one I make but with chicken stock instead of the chicken soup. Yes, I do add carrots and celery to mine, it is so good and perfect on a cold day. The pumpkin brownies look fabulous. I will have to give that one a try. Hugs, Marty
Melissa, soup and brownies both sound wonderful as that is comfort food for sure. Thanks for sharing. Helen
yumm Melissa! Those recipes sound so tasty. I love pumpkin so I just might have to give the pumpkin brownies a try.
Did you just get your Canon..what type is it? I have a Canon too.
I still struggle sometimes with lighting. My new lens has helped a lot with the indoor lighting issues I had. Thank goodness for all the information on the internet that people are willing to share about photography. I would be lost without the help of others.
thanks for sharing the recipes.
Sounds like a perfectly comforting meal for this time of year! Yummy!!xo
Great looking comfort food! My mouth is watering!
Smiles,
Carol

Soup would be perfect today, and I love extra noodles in mine! Never in a million years would I have thought to add cayenne pepper in a dessert recipe! I have got to try this!
That dinner and dessert would be really good on a night like tonight. We're experiencing cooler temps too. We have a fire going in the fireplace. I love nights like this. Wish i had some of those brownies to eat right now!
That storm dumped 8 inches on us before it headed your way! Soup and a yummy dessert! Always welcome! Thanks for sharing, and I LOVE your kitty!

send me a bar, they would be so good in the cafe!! No time these days, except book work.
I just gained 10 lbs reading this! =)
It has even gotten chilly here in Charleston! I am making that chicken noodle soup! It looks so good and that is one the whole family would eat! The brownies look complicated! I am no baker for the most part. I tried to melt the chocolate before and burned it. Talk about smelling awful!!! I bet they were so good though! Thanks again for voting for me on Facebook! I won! I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you!
I am drooling! Looks delicious. We had chili and baked potatoes from Wendy's. I've been so busy planning birthday parties I haven't made it to the commisary yet.
It sure is cold outside! We've got the heater on.
Happy Halloween!
Yum! Both recipes sound delish.
I posted an easy chicken noodle soup recipe last Monday. It's easy and so good. It's definitely soup season.
I'll try your version too.
Hugs,
Kat

Melissa!
Ugh. I am trying to slim down so I can buy and wear a smexy red dress to my hubby's Christmas party, and you post those brownies. WHYYYYYYYY!!!??? ;)
Well, I guess I could share them. Maybe.
THANK YOU for putting my button on your blog- how sweet! Like you (and those brownies)!
I just fixed the code (my hubby is a Project manager for a website company and he helped me) for my off-center button--so sorry. I thought it was centered cuz it was centered on MY blog.
The code is fixed. Would you mind re-grabbing it? So sorry!
I added you to my blog role, too :) and I can't believe I didn't do it a long time ago...I have been reading (stalking) your blog for about a year now. (I know, I am a bad commenter, I'm working on that. Right now.)
HUGS and blessings to you.
See ya later, I need to go get some chocolate chips.
