Staying On Track

Hello Everyone!
I believe most us made a healthy resolution for 2011.
Are you on track with your goals? I hope you are!
Join me and I'll give you an update on mine
and a delicious and healthy dinner recipe too.
Here are the ingredients for turkey meatloaf.
1 pound ground turkey, bread crumbs, 1 can tomato sauce
1/2 small chopped onion, 1 egg, garlic powder, S/P.
Add your ingredients to a bowl.
Add about half the can of tomato sauce and save the rest to top it.
Mix the turkey, sauce, egg, S/P, garlic powder, onion and crumbs.
No need to measure the bread crumbs just keep adding until
you have a firm loaf for the pan. You'll know when it's ready.
I did not measure the S/P or the garlic powder. It's just to taste.
Form a loaf and top with the remaining tomato sace.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
I made baby peas with a pat of butter for a side.
Here is the finished dinner with a baked potato.
A delicious and satisfying meal. I hope you try it.
Do you see the new dishes? I'll share a tablescape soon.
We've been loading up on healthy foods at the grocery.
I had gained a few pounds during the holidays but they
are now gone after I adjusted my habits back to healthy.
I'm sitting at exactly 48 pounds down from my start weight.
I'm going to try as hard as I can to lose this final 10 pounds.
To read my weight loss posts from the start check my sidebar.
Do you eat these super foods on a regular basis?
They are all very healthy choices and delicious.
I never enjoyed apples or blueberries before.
After reading the benefits I'm hooked for life.
I have been wanting to try making *green smoothies*.
Do any of you drink them? How do they taste?
Exercise has been the one thing that I just have not
had my groove going on lately. The cold weather...
Blah, blah, blah no more excuses.
I'm power walking and bowflexing regularly again.
What is your exercise routine?
Just reading this list really motivates me.
Less stress and sleeping better sounds great to me!
*Remember to breathe deeply and relax.*
Inspiration is here in this sunset. Glorious!
This is our year my friends!
Let's do this and reach our final goals...:)
Let me know how you are doing. Motivation is contagious.
Have a wonderful week!

A Moth To A Flame

Hello Everyone!
The new furniture is here! It actually arrived a week ago
but it has taken me this long to get some decent photos.
I sure hope you like how it turned out. It has been quite a
surprise since what I ordered was gold and this looks orange.
I have yet to figure out why? Does anyone know? I've heard
of taking a paint sample home to see how it reacts in your
room but never furniture. Or maybe I'm the only one
who did not know to do this beforehand. Needless to say
it has been an adjustment and since I purchased it with
no refunds, well you get the picture. Yikes. Hello orange.
I have a feeling when we move it will look different again.
It's from Ashley Furniture and is called the Burnham.
Join me for a tour of our family room!
The room glows with warm colors as you enter from the foyer.

A close view of the column coffee table and area rug.
The views from the kitchen area.
The love seat backs to the fireplace.
Not a thing we can do about the layout at this time.
I have visions of a better floorplan in our next home.
I'll take you house hunting in about 7-8 months. Yay!
I decided to embrace the orange and found a plaque.
They are both from Cato. I always find something there.
A view from the stairs looking down.
The coffee table is very heavy and well made.
I bought the rug at Marshalls.
The end table matches the coffee table.
Most of the accessories came from Ross.
Notice the curved wood detail on the furniture.
This is the matching chair from Ashley.
It is a relaxing spot to curl up with a book.
I'm still searching for the right throw.
The tv armoire is the reason the room must stay this layout.
That is one piece I do plan to replace when we move.
The details are lovely on the carved wood tables.
Here is the Ashley Burham set shown on the website.
Hopefully you can see the difference and see the gold color.
It was also gold when I saw it in person in the showroom.
I guess it's something about our home and the lighting.
If you have any other ideas why it changed color let me know.
I would really appreciate it.
My all time favorite *orange* guy in the entire world.
Mr Chestnut waiting for his milk treat. Like he needs it...:)
Thanks for the kind words on my new blog design.
I plan to change it up every 6 months or so.
I enjoy working with Jenn and getting a fresh look.
Have a wonderful week!

A New Design Is Here

Hello Everyone!
I can't believe it has been a full week since I posted.
It has been one of the most stressful and eventful weeks
of my entire life. Some good and some not so good. I can't
even begin to explain it all. For now I will concentrate on
the good so take a look around at my newest blog design.
I contacted Jenn from Munchkinland Designs and she hit
the nail on the head for me. I was looking for a fun, fresh look.
She is very talented and fast. Pay her a visit to order yours.
Please feel free to grab my newest button to display.
If you have my old one exchange it with this one.
The button and code are on my left side bar.
I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Here is a sneak peek at the new family room furniture.
Yes, a few unexpected hurdles there too. I'm still doing some
room tweaking and hope to show you as soon as possible.
I have missed you all. I'll be by for a visit very soon.
Have a wonderful week!

Animal Attraction

Hello Everyone!
Thank you for the kind words about my anti hoarding.
That was a fun one! If you missed it check it out.
Over the years I have slowly added animal elements
throughout our home. They are timeless and add
a touch of class to any room. Join me for a tour.
I bought a table at Kirklands to hold this red crocodile lamp.
Animal print decor' items are easy to find anywhere.
The table is marked down to $39 and the lamp $16.
We will be having our new furniture delivered on Thursday.
I can't wait to show you the completed room!

A leopard print frame displays our king of the jungle.
Here is Chestnut in his favorite nap spot.
Even though it's the 2nd floor he watches the birds.
Aw, I woke him from his nap. He's a bit dazed.
A leopard pillow and blanket are added to the guest bed.
A red leopard lamp from Kirklands is displayed on a table.
A leopard print tote holds an extra blanket.
An *M* frame has touches of leopard ribbon.
Visit Kristen and her Etsy shop to buy the handmade items.
I added a leopard runner from Kirklands to the foyer table.
The tassel frame also has leopard print ribbon.
Feather wreaths are very popular!
Home decor' has gone to the birds as well.
I bought this one at Michaels.
A feather napkin ring from Pier 1 works as an accent.
Another pearl napkin ring is on a reed diffuser.
Zebras have arrived on hand towels.
And on a tiny pillow in the master bathroom.
Zebra ribbon works well on this frame as well as the red croco.
Animal accents fit in with any decor style. I just love it!
Stay tuned for my new blog design coming soon!
Have a wonderful week!

Clean and Clutter Free

Hello Everyone!
First, don't hate me because I'm *clutter free*. LOL!
Many of you have said how clean and clutter free our home is.
I'm here to show you that this is indeed...true!
I work hard to keep it this way. It's my job and I enjoy it.
The number one key to a clean home is removing clutter.
Hands down numero uno, #1, top priority.
I donate and throw away clutter on a regular basis.
This makes for an easy day of housekeeping when the time comes.
Click here if you interested in my cleaning schedule post.
Join me for a tour of our clutter free home spaces.
Ah, I just breath easier with less *stuff*. Try it!
Well organized and clean drinking glasses are easy to find.
Coffee and espresso mugs are spotless.
Quick tip for removing stains from coffee mugs.
1. Mix a squirt of lemon juice with table salt to form a paste.
2. Scrub and scour away.
The spices are easy to organize with metal tier racks.
I bought them at Target.
*All photos enlarge when clicked.*
The everyday dishes are clean and ready to use.
Seasonal dishes are stacked and stored neatly.
Another tip is to not have items that don't belong.
Such as, I wouldn't have my contact solution in here.
Each place should have a purpose.
This way you know where to look for things.
I don't have a junk drawer. No need for one. Really.
Extra napkins are folded neatly.
The napkin rings fit well on each side of this kitchen console.
A decorative cabinet can make a great storage piece.
Click here to read that post.
Napkin rings drawer number two.
I like to use them in unique ways. Click here to see.
Seasonal decor' items fit well underneath.
I cleaned and organized my make-up drawer today.
It took 5 minutes...:)
Marshalls, Ross, TJ Maxx all carry these fabric jewelry organizers.
I have them displayed in my closet. This way I can see what to wear.
The guest room closet is kept clutter free for guest use.
A few extra pillows and blankets are all that is needed.
The luggage rack is from BB & Beyond. They love it!
I admit I do not like having clutter around.
I think I am the anti hoarder. Ha!
Even our garage is really empty. Click here to see.
A fabulous book is Martha's Homekeeping Handbook.
Click here to order yours. I hope I helped. Let me know.
Thanks for coming by and have a wonderful weekend!
