Golden and Glowing

Hello Everyone!
Join me for a tour of the new and improved living room. *All of the photos enlarge when clicked* The damask drapes are from Bed, Bath & Beyond. The fabric is almost the same on the new pillows from JCPenney. The leather sofa is from Ashley Furniture. A warm glow streams in from the front windows. The area rug is from Lowes and the art is from Kirklands. Yes, I have a pillow obsession...:) This cage style lamp is from JCPenney. The room has a set of glass french doors.

The Spice Cafe'

Hello Everyone!
Happy 1st Day of Spring!
I hope you had a beautiful day in your town.
I went shopping for new living room drapes and
ended up using them in our kitchen dinette after all.
Isn't it funny how things work out sometimes?
Join me for a tour!
They are called Multi Spice and are from JCPenney.
*All photos enlarge when clicked.*
I already had the gold cafe' style valances.
I added the sheer drapes to really fill up this large window.
It feels like a comfy, cozy cafe' now. Love it!
Can you see the jewel tone colors and the design?
They were a perfect match to our kitchen.
Here is a glowing nightime view.
If you enlarge this photo you can see the print.
Even though spring is in the air I felt like comfort food tonight.
I made a healthy turkey spaghetti. Yum!
I also felt like burning a sweet gingerbread candle.
Why not? No rules in our home. It smells delicious.
I'll show you where I moved the previous drapes soon.

Giveaway, Etsy Shop, Moving!

Hello Friends!
I have a few things to share with you today.
My blog friend Kristen is having an adorable
spring bunny and handmade frame giveaway.
You must stop by her blog and enter!
Look at the gorgeous ribbon frame. She is talented!
Speaking of talented my other blog friend Ally
has started her own Etsy shop as well. Just look
at the unique cross tassel she made. I had to buy it.
Pay her blog a visit to see more!
I recenty updated you on the status of our moving situation and as
of today it has changed yet again. My hubs received a call asking
if we could move in January of 2012 instead? He said yes!
This is his ideal duty station and job. So it looks like we
will be moving sooner than expected after all. Wow! I'm ready!
I don't want to say where yet but I will take you on our house hunt
when the time comes. It seems this is the time for family moves.
This is my youngest sister Michele and her darling sons Noah, 3 and
Grayson, 1 saying goodbye to their starter home a few days ago.
They sold it last month and have started the home building process
on the home of their dreams. They are so excited! Congrats Sis!
Her blog is set to private but maybe I can talk her into sharing the
photos of it through my blog. You would love to see it I'm sure of it.
She adores Pottery Barn and has this look in mind for the decor'.

Sassy Spring Colors

Hello Everyone!
Who says spring colors have to be just pastels?
Our home is what you would call a fall/winter house.
I decided to just go with what I had on hand and I created a
sassy spring vignette inspired by the pretty weather today.
Join me for a tour!
A view of the vignette in our kitchen dinette.
*All the photos enlarge when clicked*
Mr redbird tassel is ready for spring.
I added dried hydrangea and a sugared pear.
I used what I already had.
I displayed a green dinner plate and tied it with
a polka dotted bow. Now it's dressed for the season.
The plump green bird is from Cracker Barrel.
Here's a good view of the plate.
I debated on changing out the florals and decided to leave them.
It's hard to add pastels in with warm colors.
Thanks for visiting today and always.
Have a wonderful week!
My Photo
Welcome! Thank you for visiting my blog. I am a USMC wife married to a wonderful man for fifteen years. He's a CH-53E pilot and has done three fleet tours overseas. I am very proud of him and his hard work. For many years I worked in retail jewelry sales and finally decided it was time to stop and enjoy my decorating passion. We share our home with our cat Chestnut, Lloyd the cockatiel and a betta fish. I appreciate all of your comments and try to respond to as many as I can. Join me! I would be happy for you to follow along.
