Inspiration, Motivation...Where are you?

Hello Friends!
It's a brand new year and most of us are de-cluttering our homes along with 
 trying to lose weight. Most of you have read my weight loss posts from the past.
You may know I lost 50 pounds a few years ago. Click on the top of my header under
"My Weight Loss" if you have not read them. I'm happy to report I've still kept it off.
Give or take about five pounds. The main problem is my lack of sticking with my
exercise plan consistently. I have been laaazzzy, and or "pinning". You know that
fun site that completely draws us in for an entire day. My ultimate goal would be to lose
about ten more pounds and have much more energy. Exercise helps to increase energy!

 Um, I'm trying...:)
 Right now this is me minus the cardio oh and the weights too. Ha!
I do enjoy power walking. I will start again with that.
Some days I feel like this guy. Too funny...:)

This is very true. Should ten pounds really make me feel this way?
Overall I just want to be in better shape and have more energy.

 And remember this...
I would cross out the "skinny" and replace it with "healthy" though.
 I could do this right now...!
 Weight lifting was the key to my weight loss. The bowflex will get some use again.
Here's me in 2012!
I'm more than ready for a new year of challenges.

We moved to a great community for walkers, Melissa. With a YMCA literally feet away and a gym down the street, the options are available to me. I would like to start walking again. I always enjoyed that and it was so relaxing to my mind as well as giving me physical exercise.

Once I get past these allergies I hope to get back on track with the gym and eating better! We may have some changes coming our way too this year, but it's too early to tell, so I'll just take each day as it comes ;-)

Hi Melissa...thank you for this post. I sure need some motivation right now. I am about 5 lbs. over where I like to be but can't seem to find the will power to do anything about it. I know I would feel so much better if I just got it off. Tomorrow is another day...have a great week! Your picture is beautiful. :o)

Do it while you are young cause the older you get the harder it is to lose weight. I really need to find some motivation and exercises I can do with this darn arthritis in my knees and back.
Congrats on keeping the weight off. You don't look like you need to lose even a pound.
Your picture shows just how gorgeous you are, and your posts show how beautiful you are inside too. You are always so nice to everyone.
I hope this new year is the best ever for you and your hubby!!

It is so great you can keep it off! It really is YOU! I keep thinking I will get it right. My diet has changed and I can stick to it. Well I feel really bad if I don't. So it is working. I eat real food no processed and that helps sooo much. The exercise is the next step and I am going to do it. It is not cold and dark this winter so no hibernating for me! I am setting goals and sticking to them. I am 2 weeks in and HAPPY!! I am more fulfilled! Happy 2012!

Keep up the great work...you look fab! I have started an eating "plan"...plan to eat healthier and less. I've started eating a lot more fruit and vegies and no white sugar or sodas. Thanks for the inspiration! I too need to exercise more..so that is my resolution!

I have started back with better eating and exercising, but I am totally unmotivated! I used to work out with my BFF but when we moved, I lost that motivation of having someone to do it with. I have lots of friends on my street, but our schedules never work out so I find myself passing it off. I have to get out there and go! I am starting to train for my 5K that I do in February so that will get me going for a bit! Your hair is getting long again! You are just a lovely person inside and out!

I have 15 pounds to get off of myself. I love the pins you found, especially the healthy foods one, I need to re-pin them, and than go for power nap, ahem, I mean, WALK.
I am actually starting to walk tomorrow with a friend, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday I will be at the Y.

Good for you! It is so hard to keep your mind on exercising and watching calories. I go to the gym 5 days a week... I walk 3 miles and ride the bike for 20 minutes (3.2) everyday and every other day, I go back in the afternoon and ride the bike again for another 3.2 miles.

I am 60 years old and until I was in my late 40's I was very tiny (118 lbs) but as you age you start to gain weight around your middle and it is all but impossible to lose. I have to work at it but have decided to be more reasonable about what I do and eat. I'll never be that 118 lb person again but I'm okay with where I am now.

HI Melissa, hubby and I are starting the process and funny you should post this. I was thinking 2 days ago I wanted to revisit your blog and read about your process to where you are now. I remember your pictures and your posts about the process, that is what I needed reminding about! All of us seem to start but get lost in the process. But this is my year, and I am very ready. I agree, nothing is more important than "healthy".
I'm going to restart my exercising this week after a couple of months off for both holidays and travel.
Good news is I've lost 5 lbs. even during that time.
It is easy to sit and be involved on the computer or a number of things too much and forget about "moving" our bodies. I know I have to schedule exercise in or it does not get done.

First of all, don't you just love Pinterest? I can't stop pinning! I think I might need an intervention! Brittany heads back to college tomorrow (sniff, sniff), so that's my day to get back on track with consistent exercising...BRING IT ON!

I'm going to have to read your post everyday to keep motivated.
I lost 42 pounds in 2011 and I gained back about 4 over the holidays. I just can't seem to get back on track. Thanks for the encouragement.

Wonderful post! Thanks for the inspiration and motivation which I so desperately need right now. My kids have an xbox and a wii so we just ordered exercise sets for both. Hoping I can get on some sort of routine.

Congratulations on keeping the weight off! I have about 8 lbs. left. I gained 3 during the holidays but I got back in my regular exercise routine this week.

If you were here I would drag you with me to the gym. Easy for me to say - since I stayed home all day today and putzed around the house. Sanding a chair, too much time on the computer, and yes Pinterest is totally addicting. Just one more Pin, one more........ This post is very motivating and I am heading out for two hours first thing in the morning.

Melissa- I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDED this today!!!
I have been really struggling lately with weight loss - and was getting extremely frustrated. For some reason - I have a VERY very very slow metabolism. Makes me want to give up. I needed this today because I was having one of thos whats-the use- days.

Dear Beautiful Melissa....
Walking is one of the best. We get so much benefit from it...healthy, weight loss, breathing better, better posture, clears our minds, doesn't TOTALLY wear us to a frazzle....
excuse me now...gotta hit the treadmill.:))
and ONE MINUTE never seems longer than it does exercising.!!! :)

Yay! Happy New Year to you! My goal this year is to get off the rest of the preggo weight (about 45 pounds) and then some. lol We'll see!!
