Butterfly Art

Hello Everyone!
While browsing Kirklands I came acoss this butterfly print in cream with a black frame.
As soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect for the mantle. The mantle had the same tuscan art for years. It was finally time for a change. I added the burlap framed "M" and swapped out the candles to light cream and called it done. It will probably stay this way for another six years...or not. So much for my idea of adding aqua blues. Sometimes we just have to go with what strikes us at the time.
I also updated the two side lamps to a cream ceramic with a drum shade from Marshalls.
Join me for a little family room tour!

I never would have thought I would chose butterflies to go on our mantle.
I do like the idea of a nature theme and it matches the new wall paint. I'll take that.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I really like your new art. I particularly like the layered look you gave it. I love interesting mantels. I look back and remember having mine so plain and "expected", but now prefer a more interesting mix. Yours has that too. Great job!

It's a beautiful print, Melissa! I love it! I think it's a great size and looks pretty darn good on your mantel. Love the added M propped against it, too. It's a nice light look for that area. You sound like me ~ I get my mantel how I like it and leave it alone. Even when Fall comes I'll just add a few little pumpkins in to what's there. At Christmas I'll do the whole thing differently just for the holiday. Otherwise, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"! : )

Melissa, the picture looks gorgeous on your mantle! Great choice! I am also kind of bored with my mantle, which has been the same for quite a while, but I am afraid that if I change one thing, I will have to change everything! LOL Don't even know where to start! You did a fabulous job and also, your lamps are so pretty!

Looks really pretty! Isn't it amazing at times at what we might think we'll do and then we change it? The lamp looks very pretty too.

Love it! Great choice! Even if you do change it again (sooner than you might expect) you can afford to when you shop right! Your big wide candle holders are cool! Great job (as always)!

I would have bought the butterflies also. I love nature related prints. I have some egg prints and birds nests in my living room right now. Have a beautiful weekend!

Hi Melissa, I love the new look on the mantle! The butterfly pic and "M" look great together. I hope you are doing well and are having a great summer. I have been super busy and expect to get busier with the upcoming fall months. I'm trying to find time to visit all of my favorite blogs but it's getting harder and harder. Love all the changes you made to your home! Kristen

A lovely change Melissa. Something must be in the air, because quite a few people are changing up their mantels.

I love the butterfly print and the "M" print, too, Melissa! While it may not have had the blue you wanted to add, they're perfect for your mantel!

lovely! Butterflies are some of my favorite things. wipe with a damp (but not wet) sponge or cloth using mild soapy solution. You can wipe and rub the hair vigorously in any direction. Finally clean with a damp cloth using a diluted 5% white vinegar and 95% water solution, this balances the PH levels and helps to eliminate unpleasant odours.
